Update:

At Mile Post 79.4, the trail remains CLOSED at the Fallen Timber bridge until further notice.

Several parks' team members were able to safely remove the tree, evaluate the damage, and place an order for the necessary lumber. As soon as the lumber arrives and the repairs are completed, the bridge will be reopened to normal use.

We expect the process - lumber delivery and repairs - to take until approximately June 1.

The is no official detour in place. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Missouri State Parks is teaming up with Terrain360 and the Lewis and Clark Trust for a very cool 360 virtual mapping project. We're setting our sights on a 30 mile pilot section for this robust interactive virtual map, but first, we need your input!

Should we start where the Katy Trail started, along the 200 ft limestone bluffs in (1) Rocheport? Opt instead for the irresistible charm of (2) Hermann and McKittrick? Or should we step back in time at the 1896 mercantile, now used as the Ted and Pat Jones Welcome Center in (3) Treloar? Not to be outdone by wineries further west, our nation's first American Viticultural area, near (4) Augusta and Defiance is also on the list. Finally, the eastern terminus and largest city along the Katy, (5) St. Charles, throws its hat in the ring. Where do you think we should start? Click the link to vote now!

Happy 36th Birthday, Katy Trail State Park!

On April 28, 1990, we celebrated the opening the first section of Katy Trail State Park in Rocheport and the start of what would ultimately become the longest developed rail-trail in the country.

Last Saturday (4/25), we celebrated Founders Day in cooperation with Magnificent Missouri, Edward Jones, and Missouri State Parks! We celebrated Ted and Pat Jones' legacy in relation to the trail's original development and continued successes.

At Sedalia, Boonville, North Jefferson, Treloar, and Dutzow participants gathered to listen to tunes, remove honeysuckle, and do some painting. Happy Trails!!
