Fall Colors Tours are FULL!
We experienced overwhelming demand yesterday and the tours filled early in the morning - congrats to all that snagged seats!

If your regular route takes you through Easley (near Cooper's Landing), take note! The Katy Trail crossing at Smith Hatchery Rd will be CLOSED August 19-21st as Boone County works on paving this section of road.

Additional temporary closures will be announced as the paving project progresses.

🚫No Public Road Access or Parking at Machens🚫

We get it. Our eastern terminus in Machens can be tricky. We want everyone to enjoy the trail, and we expect everyone to be able to do so without trespassing, vandalizing property or harassing local landowners.

Let's review:
🚲 The eastern terminus at Machens is ONLY accessible via the Katy Trail.
❌ There is NO parking, NO public road access and NO through-route to the Machens terminus other than via the trail itself.
✅ The last public access point and parking is at the Black Walnut Trailhead, 3 miles from Machens.
🚫 Using private roads, rail lines, cutting cables, and parking on private property is illegal and unacceptable. These actions harm community relationships and put future trail access at risk.

Let's all do our part to be good neighbors. Enjoy the trail and respect the land and people who surround it.
