The Board of Directors of the Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina (MHISC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Allen Hutto as the association’s new Executive Director.
Mr. Hutto joins MHISC following his service as Chief of Staff for the South Carolina Department of Transportation. His prior experience also includes serving as MHISC's General Counsel and Director of Government Affairs from 2004-2014, Chief Executive Officer for the Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina, and Corporate Counsel for Great Southern Homes.
A native of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Mr. Hutto earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the College of Charleston. He later received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law and went on to earn a Master of Human Resources degree from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business.
Mr. Hutto resides in Lexington with his wife, Alicia, and their daughter, Laura Stafford.
He will officially assume his duties as Executive Director on June 15, 2026, during the MHISC Convention. In his new role, Mr. Hutto will oversee the day-to-day operations of the association and work closely with the Board of Directors, members, and industry partners to advance the mission of MHISC and strengthen the manufactured housing industry throughout South Carolina.
