SC Special Operations Conference ♠️

Bridging the gap. Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement operating together as 1 Team, 1 Fight.

Our Intro to TEMS course is a multi-agency training program designed to develop, refine, and produce successful Teams to Stop The Killing, Stop The Dying, and perform Evacuation Care. By bridging the gap, we bring together all Agencies as 1 Team, 1 Fight. Students learned tactics and concepts to prepare for Active Shooter Incidents & Acts of Violence. We use lessons learned from our Military and apply them to the civilian world of Tactical Medicine. Medical skills are from TCCC, TECC, and Combat Life Saver. We focus on the Contact Team, the Rescue Task Force Team, and Unified Command.

We appreciate the students who showed up ready to work and learn from each other.

Members of the Pickens Police Department Special Response Team, alongside Travelers Rest Police Department SRT, had the opportunity to help train an outstanding group of tactical medics at the 2026 Special Operations Conference hosted by the South Carolina State Fire Academy.

This was a great experience working with professionals from across the state, building strong partnerships, and sharing critical knowledge and tactics. We appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with Valkyrie Tactical Solutions and all those involved in making this training a success.

These relationships and skills are essential as we continue to enhance our readiness and response capabilities.

This course is designed for SWAT and Special Response Teams operating in high-risk environments, focusing on sound decision-making, proper tool selection, and safe deliberate ex*****on. Students progress from classroom instruction into hands-on training covering mechanical, hydraulic, ballistic, and saw breaching techniques. SOCON 2026 for our Intro to Tactical Medic Course(TEMS)!

Valkyrie Tactical Solutions and Palmetto Fire Tactics are teaming up to bring back this mission-driven, high-intensity Intro to Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) training to the South Carolina Special Operations Conference (SOCON) on April 18-19 at South Carolina Fire Academy!

We’re on a Mission to raise the standard for Tactical Medics in the State. We’re diving into real-world, high-threat environments where precision, speed, and decision-making can mean the difference between life and death. Expect:

Last month, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team competed in the annual South Carolina SWAT Challenge: The Ragnarök at the Saw Mill Training Complex in Laurens County.

In this year's event, 10 great tactical teams from South Carolina and Georgia participated. Eight members of our team competed in multiple events throughout the two-day competition. These stages include Breaching, Hostage Rescue, Rappelling, Vehicle Takedowns, Tactical Medic, Sniper, a 3-mile-long obstacle course, and 6 team shooting stages. Despite the cold, heavy rainfall, and mud, Pickens County SWAT was one of the top teams overall and finished second in the team shooting events!

FORGED IN FIRE 🔥

Twice a year, we have the privilege of delivering “Forged in Fire (Military Leadership to Emergency Services)” at the South Carolina Fire Officer Academy. Being part of this program is one of the most impactful things we do.

Thank you to the South Carolina Firefighters Association for the opportunity, and to the cadre who make it happen. We truly have some of the most talented instructors in the State. It’s an honor to serve alongside them.

This right here is why we do it.

Today, two firefighters made a grab on the 2nd division down a set of stairs. The victim was transported breathing on her own and later moved to the Augusta Burn Center.

Reilly Kilbride and his partner Colin Cotter had both attended our “Make the Grab” and “Firefighter Survival (SR2D)” courses.

Their message to us said it all:

“We got real knowledge and real reps from y’all’s courses. I am genuinely grateful for you all. We got to make a difference today because of the reps you gave us.”

That’s what it’s about.

Training isn’t about certificates or patches. It’s about preparing firefighters for the moment when everything is on the line, Giving them the confidence and muscle memory to act.

Proud of these brothers and the work they did today. Because of them, someone gets another chance at life.

After 3 days of battling in the Cold and Pouring Rain, York County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team stepped into the Arena and emerged victorious.

They didn’t just show up.
They Prepared.
They Trained Hard.
They Came to Win.

After pushing and testing every element of a team; tactical proficiency, physical endurance, Breaching, Medical, individual & team based skills, and shooting, York County Sheriff’s Office SWAT emerged as the 2026 Ragnarök Best SWAT Team.

Well earned. Well deserved.

This is what The Ragnarök is about. To improve skills operationally that will save lives. To be better for the person to the left and right of you. To serve your Community better.
