Friends of the Columbia Public Library We are a group of volunteers who raise money for the library by accepting donations of books (and other things) and holding book sales.

Correction: Tomorrow's sale will only have two carts of Cookbooks, and we're adding the This & That cart to the sale. And remember, next week is Father's Day, so maybe see if you can find Dad a book or CD for a gift!

Beat the heat by coming to the library tomorrow for our sale, and finding something to read in a cool spot! We've got two carts of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Graphic Novels, and Horror. We've also got three carts of Cookbooks, Fiction, Children's Books, and assorted 50 cent CDs, including Rock & Pop, Soundtracks & Musicals, Country, and more.

The Science Fiction & Fantasy carts have been rearranged and restocked, with a lot of new books going out on Saturday.

Beat the heat by coming to the library tomorrow for our sale, and finding something to read in a cool spot! We've got two carts of Science Fiction and Fantasy and a cart of Manga, Graphic Novels, and Horror (including movies). We've also got three carts of Cookbooks, the Fiction cart, and assorted 50 cent CDs, including Rock & Pop, World Music, and more.

There are some great books on the Science Fiction & Fantasy carts. One full cart is all first-time-out books. And if you've been hearing about Project Hail Mary and the library's wait-list is too long for your patience, we've got at least two copies on the cart right now. If you get there early enough, you can even choose between the movie tie-in cover and the original cover. 😀Cassandra Clare fans, we've got quite a few Mortal Instruments books if you need a spare!

The First Wednesday sale was a HIT! Thank you all for coming! We're completely out of comic books now, but Sci Fi, Fantasy & Horror, and Graphic Novels, have been restocked. Cookbooks is also being restocked. So Saturday's sale will have 3 carts of Cookbooks, 2 carts of Sci Fi, Fantasy, & Horror; a cart of Graphic Novels; and a cart of Fiction. And, of course, the assortment of music CDs - only 50 cents each!! - on the bottom shelves.

It's June, and a new month means a new First Wednesday sale!!

This month, it's Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Graphic Novels, and Comic Books, plus Cookbooks! We've got two carts full of Graphic Novels and Comic Books, plus another four carts of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. Everything from H.P. Lovecraft to Andy Weir, plus a shelf of horror movies on one cart. We've got a lot of the classic authors - Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, C.J. Cherryh, J.R.R. Tolkien - and more recent names like John Ringo, Cassandra Clare, and Andrzej Sakowski. If you're looking for Witcher, Game of Thrones, Kris Longknife, Mortal Instruments, or Choose Your Own Adventure books, this is the sale to come to! And, of course, plenty of Star Wars and Star Trek to choose from.

We've got two great carts full of anime, graphic novels, and comic books. Hana-Kimi, Tellos, Chew, Crimson, Marvel, DC, and so much more! Comic books are $1 or 50 cents, and most are in bags.

The Cookbooks also have a great variety. There are classics like Julia Child's Art of French Cooking, Betty Crocker, Cooks Illustrated - and more recent books from folks like Wolfgang Puck, Guy Fieri, and the Neelys. No matter what you want to cook, you'll probably find it on these carts.

This month, we'll have Fiction, Bargain Non-Fiction, Literature, Biography, Children's Books, Historical Collections, and the wonderful 10-for-$1 DVD (and Blu-ray) cart! We've got three carts of Art, Music, and Entertainment left, so there's still plenty of great books, sheet music, and CDs to peruse. We'll also have Fiction, Children's Books, Bargain Non-Fiction, and the wonderful 10-DVDs-For-$1 cart, full of great movies! For tomorrow's sale, it's Half-Price time! Everything on the three Arts, Music, and Entertainment carts is Half Price! Still plenty left to coose from, and now at bargain prices. We'll also have Bargain History, This & That, Children's Books, and Fiction. And, along with the 50-cent CDs, make sure to check out the This & That cart, where we've got some great DVD bargains - bundles of TV-series sets for only 50 cents per bundle!!

If you know ANYONE interested in Judaica, Kabbalah, the Torah, women in Judaisim; or Jewish history, legends, storytelling, and wisdom, PLEASE share this post with them. Saturday is the last chance to buy any of the books on our cart of Judaica, and the books are all $1 each now. There are some interesting and obscure books on the cart, but we don't have the space to keep them around any longer.
