We had a wonderful Sunday evening celebrating our volunteers and all those who support the Richland County Ag + Art Tour.

On May 31, tour volunteers connected with tour site hosts and received training at The Hall at Senate’s End.

Many thanks to our guest speakers: Will Culler, South Carolina Ag + Art Tour Director; Mary Ann Adams, Owner & Operator of One Hubcap Farm; Tayler Simon, Writer & Poet with Liberation is Lit; Councilmember Allison Terracio (District 5); Councilmember Don Weaver (District 6); and Councilmember Paul Livingston (District 4).

Thank you to our party’s in-kind sponsors: Living Wright Foundation for the venue, Earth Fare for the food, and Milo’s for the beverages.

Additionally, we want to express our gratitude to our tour sites for providing incredible door prizes for our volunteers: Mr. Bunky’s Market, One Hubcap Farm, and Paradise Cay Plantation.

The South Carolina Ag + Art Tour is a Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service program. Richland County’s Ag + Art Tour is locally administered by the Richland Soil and Water Conservation District, with the support of Richland County, the Richland County Conservation Commission, and other public and private sponsors.

Join us for the Richland County Ag + Art Tour, a free, self-guided tour of farms and markets featuring artisans at every stop – this Saturday, June 6, 9 am to 4 pm, and Sunday, June 7, 12 pm to 4 pm! We have 16 sites at 15 locations and over 120 artisans waiting to welcome you! 🚜🎨

Have you heard the news? South Carolina now has a state migratory bird!

The Prothonotary Warbler, aka the "swamp warbler," is a common breeder in our state where they pass through on their migrations to Central and South America.

Prothonotary Warblers like to spend their days in swamps and bottomland forests where they tend to stay low in the understory, foraging above the water and along shorelines. While most warbler species construct their nests in dense bushes, the Prothonotary Warbler is one of only two wood warbler species that uses tree cavities for nesting.

Want to spot one for yourself? You're in luck! These vibrant birds are currently in South Carolina for the breeding season! The best time to see them in our state is April-July each year.

We are so grateful to have University of South Carolina student Matthew Amico as our 2026 summer agritourism intern! Matthew is helping with the preparation and ex*****on of the Ag + Art Tour of Richland County. He’s jumped right in and been an incredible asset. Get to know Matthew! 👇

Hello everyone, my name is Matthew Amico, and this year I will be serving as the RSWCD Agritourism intern. I am a junior at the University of South Carolina studying environmental science. I have lived all over, being born in Texas, growing up in NY state, and completing high school near Louisville, KY. I am extremely passionate about the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for all generations, built on buying local. For fun, I love to bake, cook, garden, go on hikes, and pick up hobbies like crochet. I look forward to falling in love with SC even more this summer and getting to experience more of what makes this state so great!

Join us in welcoming Matthew to the RSWCD team! ✨
