🚨 ATTENTION SOLDIERS! It's and we have a critical update regarding your education benefits. 📚

❌ MYTH: "I’ve used Credentialing Assistance (CA) before, so I don't need my Commander's approval this time."
✅ FACT: False! Due to recent changes, ALL Soldiers must now get Commander approval to request either CA or Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA). No exceptions for past users!

⭐ FIRST-TIME CA USERS: You have an additional requirement! You must complete the MilGears Career Assessment and upload the results to your ArmyIgnitED account before applying.

As a reminder…..

Let's clear up a HUGE misconception about Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA)!

❌ MYTH: Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) pays for my tuition and all my fees.
✅ FACT: FTA does NOT pay for fees! This is a big one. It only pays for tuition, with the following limits: up to $250 per credit, 18 credits per year, for a total of $4,500 per fiscal year.

You will still be responsible for lab fees, technology fees, etc. It's super important to factor this into your budget so you don't have surprise bills!

Dispelling a common myth for our Army National Guard Soldiers!

❌ MYTH: I can’t use Federal Tuition Assistance (FTA) if I’m on Title 10 orders.
✅ FACT: YES, YOU CAN! Soldiers serving in the ARNG are eligible to use FTA, regardless of the orders they’re on. This includes Title 32 traditional drilling, AGR, or ADOS, and Title 10 AGR or ADOS. Your opportunity to pursue education is always there.

Important Reminder for Officers: Using FTA comes with a service obligation. It's a four-year Reserve Duty Service Obligation (RDSO) for traditional drilling officers and a two-year Active Duty Service Obligation (ADSO) for those on AGR or ADOS orders.
