Structure Fire

6/19/2026

The Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 5:48 a.m. on Friday morning to 60 Joe R Barbee Road for a reported fully engulfed structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-story residential home with flames showing. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack and were able to contain the fire to the original structure. The residence sustained major damage as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. No injuries were reported.

A total of 15 firefighters responded to the scene and remained on location for approximately two hours.

Structure Fire

6/18/2026

The Columbia-Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 6:15 a.m. on Thursday morning to 665 Marlo Campbell Road in response to a reported structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a shed-style building fully engulfed in flames, with the fire having spread to a nearby mobile home. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack on the mobile home and were able to contain the fire to the original shed structure and the adjacent residence.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

A total of 11 firefighters responded to the scene and remained on location for approximately two hours.

Thank you, Adair County!!

We are incredibly grateful for your continued support of the 73rd annual WHAS Crusade for Children. This is a truly special cause, with 100% of the funds raised coming right back into our community to support local children through programs like our school system and other vital services.

We are proud to share that the Columbia–Adair County Fire Department raised a total of $63,850.00. This effort would not have been possible without the dedication of our Crusade Chairman, Phillip Richard, who put in countless hours behind the scenes, along with the hard work of our volunteer firefighters & their families. From the Pancake Breakfast and Chili Supper to the roadblocks, their commitment made a huge impact.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department and Knifley Area Volunteer Fire Department for their continued partnership—both in raising funds and assisting with roadblocks this year.

Together, all three departments raised a combined total for Adair County of $67,431.00 for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Your generosity continues to make a difference in the lives of children right here in Adair County. We couldn’t do it without you.

Structure Fire

The Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 15:08 hours Saturday afternoon to 1188 Rooks Denton Road on a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival firefighters found a shed style structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters then initiated an attack on the fire and was able to contain the fire to the structure. The cause of this fire is unknown at this time. There were two firefighters checked out by Adair County EMS but refused to be transported at the time of the incident.

There were 8 firefighters on scene for approximately two hours.

Today is our final day out collecting for the 73rd annual WHAS Crusade for Children, and firefighters are set up all across the Columbia city limits now through 12pm today!

As always, 100% of the proceeds we raise go to help local children in need.

The Columbia–Adair County Fire Department will be hosting our annual WHAS Crusade for Children Roadblocks on the following dates:

Today, on International Firefighters Day, we proudly recognize and honor the dedicated men and women of the Columbia Adair County Fire Department.

To our own firefighters — thank you. Your commitment to protecting life and property, your courage in the face of danger, and your selfless service to this community are what make this department strong. Day in and day out, you answer the call, often sacrificing time with your families to ensure the safety of others.

We also want to express our sincere appreciation to our fellow departments here in Adair County, including Breeding Fire Department and Knifley Kavfd. Your partnership and shared dedication to serving this county does not go unnoticed.

In addition, we are grateful for the fire departments in our neighboring counties who provide mutual aid and assistance when needed. The support and teamwork between departments play a vital role in keeping our communities safe.

Structure Fire

4/19/2026

The Columbia Adair County Fire Department was dispatched at approximately 14:23 hours Sunday afternoon to 6565 Russell Springs Road on a report of a structure fire.

Upon arrival firefighters found a one story residential structure with smoking showing from the charlie side of the structure. Crews initiated a fire attack and was able to contain the fire to the bathroom and attic area of the home. The cause of this fire is related to an electrical issue that is in the attic. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident.

There were 12 firefighters on scene for approximately 1.5 hours.
