This program is designed to help low to moderate-income families purchase a home in Columbia's city limits. Applicants can receive up to $10,000 in the form of a 10-year forgivable loan with 0% interest.

The Columbia Housing Authority is hosting a public engagement event to help inform our plans to renovate and improve our remaining 120 units of public housing at Park Avenue and Providence Walkway on April 11, 2022 at Secondary Missionary Baptist Church, 407 E. Broadway from 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m..
This effort is a top goal for CHA’s current 5-year strategic plan. Preserving and expanding CHA’s affordable housing portfolio is vital to meeting the growing demand for affordable housing.
CHA is striving for a very significant turnout to ensure our plans for preserving and expanding affordable housing align with our community’s goals and perspectives.

The City estimates it will receive approximately $1,000,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $600,000 in HOME funds in FY 2023. These funds primarily benefit low to moderate income households and can be used for affordable housing, economic development, neighborhood revitalization and stabilization and community facilities.
