This weekend Soldiers from South Carolina National Guard's 122nd Engineer Battalion held a departure ceremony as they head to Washington DC in support of the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. Safe travels, Soldiers!

Approximately 400 members of the 122nd Engineer Battalion left for the nation’s capital to support crime reduction efforts.

Last night South Carolina Military Department and Garvin Design Group (Architecture, Interior Design, and Planning) were recognized by Historic Columbia during the 50 Forward: 2026 Preservation Awards & Gala, for the renovation of the historic Olympia armory. Constructed in 1937 with funding from the Works Progress Administration, the Olympia Armory was recently rehabilitated to ensure its continued use as both a military facility by the S.C. State Guard.
