Memory verses are an important part of what we do at Group Mentoring. We want to see students flourish in every aspect of life, so we practice memorizing scripture with kids so they can carry God's word with them wherever they go. These incredible students are so cool; they consistently remember their memory verses without any extra help from our Group Mentoring Counselors. We're excited to see God's word continue taking root in their heads and hearts. Praise God!

Ever since these two first matched, they've been on a mission to try new foods. On a recent mentor outing, they decided to try bowls of ramen. Slurping down tasty noodles set the scene for quality time and intentional discussion. Between bites, they discussed her love of school, where she'll be going next year, and spent time praying together for her mom and family. We're so proud to see this relationship grow and this special young lady thrive. Keep it up! We can't wait to hear about what new foods you try next, too!

Games are a big part of Group Mentoring! In addition to having fun, it provides awesome opportunities for growth. Students can practice learning teamwork and social skills with peers while mentors like Mrs. Rita can prioritize building greater connection, trust, and quality time with our awesome kiddos.

There's more to it, though: playing Zingo was made possible by the generosity of Mrs. Lucy from Midtown Fellowship: Lexington. Using our Group Mentoring Amazon Wishlist, she purchased us this game, jump ropes, rocks to paint, and a math game! Each one of those items goes directly toward supporting mentoring relationships with kids in our community. Thank you, Mrs. Lucy!

We want to see kids thrive, and reading plays a big part in unlocking academic success, imagination, and learning. This semester, we've been really working with students at Group Mentoring to build those reading skills by reading 10 books each. It was a big goal, but our kids knocked it out of the park, so we headed to the trampoline park to celebrate with popcorn and high-flying fun! Way to go, kids!

Long overdue post, but we're so proud of our students and the ways they are growing! We're seeing tremendous growth in their character, their relationships with God, and in the way they care for others. Last month, we recognized these rockstars for really embodying what it means to be appreciative. Way to go, y'all!

The kids at our Columbia Two Notch Group Mentoring site really love dancing.
