Welcome to Heyward Career and Technology Center!

Dear Heyward Faculty, Staff, Students, and Stakeholders:

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Heyward Career and Technology Center!

I am honored to serve as your new principal and grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated team. Heyward has a strong foundation of excellence, and I look forward to building on that success.

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, our focus will remain on teamwork, innovation, and a shared belief that every student deserves the opportunity to grow, achieve, and succeed. Together, we will continue to strengthen our programs, support one another, and celebrate the accomplishments of our students.

I encourage all of us to continue embracing new ideas, supporting one another, and striving to be better than we were yesterday. Together, we will create an environment where students are inspired to learn, teachers are empowered to lead, and every member of our school community feels valued and respected.

Thank you for your commitment, dedication, and passion for serving our students. I am excited about what we will accomplish together.

Let's make the 2026–2027 school year a year of growth, excellence, and impact

Best regards,

🎉 Congratulations to De’Marcus Tillman and Cassius Bannister of Richland One’s Victory Program on earning first place during the SkillsUSA’s Community Action competition in Atlanta, Georgia over the summer.

De’Marcus and Cassius’ award-winning presentation highlighted the Victory Program’s annual Veterans Day program, an event where Victory students come together to honor veterans from across the district and surrounding community for their service and sacrifice.

The Victory Program teaches work-based learning and independent living skills to special needs students ages 18-21. 🌟
