“Two years ago today I was diagnosed with cancer. Two years of riding an Adrenalin high from surgery to surgery to surgery, appointment to appointment. Two years of sitting in anger and grief and working through every emotion. Two years of shattered confidence and building myself back up, finding things I enjoy doing and letting go of things I can no longer do. Two years of being loved. Thank you. I didn’t need a life change. But I do think breast cancer made me respect and admire my body far more. Do I dare say that I think I even like my body now? I might even like myself! I could, however, go without having to explain to my daughter each week why I don’t have ni***es! Here’s to many more years cancer free! 🍾 “Good morning, Don’t cop out. You crawled from the cancer to land on your feet. Are you crazy to want this? Even for a while.”-Meg

What is Relay for Life?

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest peer-to-peer fundraising event to save lives from cancer. At Relay For Life events, participants celebrate people who have been touched by cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action for lifesaving change.Funds raised help the American Cancer Society attack cancer in dozens of ways, each of them critical to achieving a world without cancer – from developing breakthrough therapies to building supportive communities, from providing empowering resources to deploying activists to raise awareness.
