Embarking on a novice journey to become human resources officers

FORT JACKSON, SOUTH CAROLINA – Thirty-four lieutenants began a 12-week journey at the Adjutant General Basic Officer Leadership Course here June 3, 2019.

For many of the Soldiers this is their first opportunity to learn about and train in their new career since commissioning through the Officer Candidate School or Reserve Officer Training Corps programs. The AG BOLC is designed to develop competent, agile, adaptive, human resources operators prepared to provide personnel support that affects Soldiers’ overall welfare and well-being, while assisting commanders by accounting for and keeping Soldiers combat-ready. The U.S. Army Soldiers representing active, National Guard and Reserve components, along with their international officer counterparts, are slated to graduate Aug. 23. The class is also paired with a sister group AG BOLC 005-19.
