We've heard from residents who have concerns about vehicle speeds on Hoylake Drive, and ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ'๐ฌ ๐ฆ๐ž๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐ง๐  is your opportunity to help shape the conversation about potential traffic calming improvements.

Join Public Works staff from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, in Room 1C of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. We'll review traffic study information, discuss potential solutions and answer questions about the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program.

Whether you support traffic calming, have concerns, or simply want to learn more, we encourage you to attend and share your feedback.

Can't make the meeting? You can also learn more and submit comments online through June 19 at https://BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Hoylake-Drive-traffic-calming.

Throughout June and July, contractors for Public Works will apply Reclamite to streets that were resurfaced with mill and overlay last year. Reclamite helps preserve asphalt pavement, extending roadway life and protecting the City's investment in recently improved streets.

Crews are starting on campus streets first (getting in before Summer Welcome events begin) and from there, will continue to downtown and residential streets.

๐Ÿ‘€ In these photos, you can see the difference between one half of a street that has just received Reclamite, and one half that has not yet been treated. The amber-brown appearance is temporary; after application, crews spread sand as a blotter to help absorb excess material. Weather and traffic will gradually return the street's appearance to normal.

๐Ÿšฆ Drivers should use caution when traveling through active work zones, watch for workers and equipment, and follow all instructions from flaggers directing traffic.

If you see temporary orange "No Parking" signs posted on your street, please follow the dates and times listed on the signs. A clear roadway is necessary for crews to complete the treatment, and vehicles parked in signed work zones may be ticketed or towed.

๐Ÿ“‹ For a full list of streets scheduled for Reclamite treatment, read the press release at CoMo.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=9706.

Starting Monday, June 1, contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works department will begin applying Reclamite to 55 Columbia streets. Work will continue through June and July until all streets on the project list have been treated, weather permitting.

Reclamite is an asphalt rejuvenation treatment applied to streets that were mill and overlaid last year. The treatment helps preserve the pavement, extend roadway life and protect the Cityโ€™s investment in newly resurfaced streets.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Want to see whether your street is included? View the interactive map of planned treatment locations at

๐Ÿšซ If you see temporary orange โ€œNo Parkingโ€ signs posted on your street, please follow the dates and times listed on the signs. Vehicles parked in signed work zones may be ticketed or towed so crews can safely complete the treatment.

๐Ÿ™๏ธ Downtown residents: If possible, please consider parking in the hourly sections of downtown garages while work is taking place on your block.

Drivers, please use caution and reduce speeds near any work zone.

๐ŸšŒ The Go COMO Orange Route bus stop in the construction area will remain in service; however, riders should wait for the bus just east of the work zone during construction.
