THIS WEEK: Academy Superintendent Jason Pope was the keynote speaker at Bluffton Township Fire District’s Recruit Graduation Ceremony yesterday.

Chief Pope spoke about attitude and effort, and provided a reminder that training is a way of life in the fire service. Congratulations to the 20 graduates representing four agencies!

TODAY ON CAMPUS: ERTF Chief Ken Kerber (center), with his family (and super cute grandchildren) in attendance, spent this afternoon listening to several friends share their favorite Chief Kerber story.

Although we will miss the daily complaints about the bypass, his unique wit, and especially his mustard-stained hoodie - he knows he remains a part of the SC State Fire family.

State Fire Marshal Jonathan Jones also declared today, "State Fire Hoodie Day" - in Chief Kerber's honor.

Help us wish Chief Kerber all the best in his retirement!
