What an incredible Saturday morning we had at the Columbia Breakfast Rotary Club’s 2026 Annual Shoot For Our Stars event! Thank you to everyone who came out to support a fantastic day of fellowship, sport and community impact.

A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our wonderful sponsors! Because of your generosity and commitment, we are able to fund vital local projects — including the construction of the "Fires of Friendship" community firepit lounge at Yanahli Park, support for high school shooting teams and contributions to incredible local non-profits and community initiatives.

We couldn't do this work without our community partners. Thank you for helping us put Service Above Self into action! 💙💛

October is an important month for our continued commitment to polio eradication. Rotary and its partners have reduced global polio cases by 99.9%, but our work is not finished.

The Williamson County clubs are joining together for a tricycle race in Downtown Franklin on October 22 at the Harpeth Hotel to raise funds for PolioPlus.

You are welcome to join them for the fun and fellowship.

We are incredibly thankful for the generous businesses and individuals who continue to show up, give back, and make a meaningful difference right here in our community. ❤️🇺🇸

This year, proceeds will help support the Fires of Friendship Firepit Lounge at the Kyle Harris Pavilion in Yanahli Park—another wonderful way to invest in our community and bring people together!

To all of our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and supporters, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity, time, and willingness to help make this event possible mean more than you know. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Together, we’re making a difference right here at home! ❤️

A legacy of leadership, mentorship, and devotion to our community was permanently cemented this past Friday, October 9, at Columbia Central High School.

The Columbia Breakfast Rotary Club was honored to take part in the official dedication of the Edward A. Hickman Event Center.

Eddie Hickman truly lived the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self." A proud graduate of the Central High School Class of 1969, Eddie dedicated 42 years to Maury County Schools as an educator, coach, administrator, and Director of Schools. Within our club, he served with that same steadfast passion—most notably chairing our scholarship committee, opening doors of opportunity for generations of local students.

The Columbia Breakfast Rotary Club Foundation, alongside the Hickman family, was privileged to donate the bronze plaque that now hangs outside the Event Center. Approved earlier this summer by the Maury County Board of Education, this dedication ensures that every student, teacher, and visitor who walks through those doors will be reminded of Mr. Hickman’s profound impact on public education and our entire community.

Thank you to the Hickman family, Maury County Public Schools, and everyone who joined us to celebrate the enduring legacy of a beloved Rotarian, educator, and friend.

Once a Lion, always a Lion. 🦁💛
