Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center will be closed today, June 4. Our staff has identified an issue with the filtration system which has caused clarity issues and raised safety concerns, and we will make repairs and determine solutions while the pool is closed today.
We plan to reopen tomorrow, and have arranged an alternate option for swimmers today! Though Lake of the Woods Pool is normally closed Thursdays, it will be open from 12-7:30 p.m. today. As usual, recreational swim is also available at the ARC from 1-5 p.m. and Stephens Lake is open. The spraygrounds at Douglass Park, Stephens Lake Park and Flat Branch Park are also available. We apologize for the inconvenience, and appreciate your patience as we work to ensure that our pools are as safe and clear as possible.

We have been experiencing water clarity issues late in the day at Albert-Oakland Family Aquatic Center, which our staff is working on diligently. To that end, we are going to shorten pool hours today at Albert-Oakland from noon to 3 p.m. for half-price admission. For today, adults swim from $3 and youth ages 2-15 swim for $2. Infants 1 and under are free.

Plot twist: Columbia Parks & Recreation is excited about improvements to a parking lot! The new asphalt and angled parking at Twin Lakes Recreation Area improves traffic flow (sans potholes) and makes navigating the lot easier and safer for everyone - whether you’re arriving by car, bicycle, or on foot. Because every great trail, playground, and picnic starts with a great parking spot. 🤣

Stay tuned. There’s still more to come. Installation of parking lot lights will begin over the next few weeks. Thank you for your continued patience and support!
