On behalf of our Board of Directors, we were proud to host a Members' Meet & Greet to welcome Abdul-Kaba Abdullah as the new President & CEO of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce!

Members joined our Board, Executive Leadership, and Chamber staff for an evening of great conversation, food, and a warm welcome to Abdul as he shared a few words with the room to kick off this exciting new chapter.

We're energized by the vision and leadership he brings to our Chamber family, and we can't wait for what's ahead for our members and the greater Columbia business community.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our wonderful past chair, Matt Moore, 2020-2021. Matt shaped the Columbia community, there will be a noticeable hole felt by all in his absence. He was a leader in his work as CEO of Shelter Insurance, and his legacy of service spanned from the Boys and Girls Club to the national athletics landscape. As a 2025 Chamber Legacy recipient, we were happy to celebrate with Matt the monumental impact he made on our community. Everyone who was in a room with Matt felt a sense of bigger purpose. From your chamber family, we will deeply miss your light.

We are thrilled to announce that Abdul-Kaba Abdullah has been named the new President & CEO of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce, effective July 1!

Abdul brings more than two decades of experience in economic development, community revitalization, and public-private partnerships to our community. As Executive Director of Park Central Development in St. Louis, he facilitated more than $1.3 billion in investment and led revitalization efforts across fifteen neighborhoods. As City Manager of Berkeley, Missouri, he sparked the city's largest economic growth in over 30 years.

Now he's bringing that energy and expertise to Columbia.

In his own words: "Columbia is a vibrant, growing community with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Together, we will build upon the Chamber's strong foundation and help ensure Columbia remains one of the best places in the nation to live, work, invest, and do business."
