Benedict College is a private/urban institution located in the City of Columbia, South Carolina. The Benedict College Police Department is the law enforcement service agency for the campus and those areas under the college's authority. All of the officers in the department have been entrusted with the duty and responsibility to serve and protect the Benedict College campus and the surrounding comm

unity. It is the duty of every officer in this department to undertake the task of providing the campus and the surrounding community with a safe and peaceful environment.. The police officers are duly sworn state constables with statewide arrest authority as established by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and are certified through the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

TRAFFIC DELAY NOTICE

Please be advised that traffic delays are expected in and around Benedict College Stadium and on surrounding roads due to the Benedict College home football game, which begins at 5:00 PM tomorrow, August 29, 2026.

The following intersections will be heavily impacted:

* Read Street & Two Notch Road
* Richland Street & Two Notch Road
* Edgewood Avenue & Two Notch Road
* Forest Drive & Pinehurst Street

There will be a heavy law enforcement presence around the Benedict College campus. Please watch for officers directing traffic, remain alert, and follow all law enforcement instructions.

We encourage everyone to leave early and plan ahead. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
