This weekend was a wonderful reflection of the people, traditions, and values that make our district unique.
On Friday, I had the opportunity to be in Jackson attending the Mississippi Children, Youth, and Families Collaboration Initiative. It was an important day focused on strengthening support systems and ensuring best practices within our court systems. These conversations matter, because investing in our children today means building a stronger Mississippi for tomorrow.
Saturday was spent in Tylertown at the 49th Annual Walthall County Dairy Festival at Holmes Water Park. From butter churning to sack races, turtle races, and even a mooing contest, it was a full day of fun, fellowship, and long standing traditions. We had a wonderful time visiting with members of the community, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to set up our booth.
On Sunday we slowed down for our regular church service and two very special celebrations. Yesterday marked our 40th wedding anniversary, and we also attended a party for the birthdays of our grandson, Henry, and his friend and our fellow church member, Esau.
We are thankful for every conversation and every moment spent with the people who make this district home.
