Shelby County Schools in excited to annouce the addition of new Pre-K classrooms for the upcoming school year. These new locations include additional classes at Elvin Hill Elementary and Inverness Elementary, as well as a brand new program at Montevallo Elementary.

To register for the new class at Montevallo Elementary, go to https://prek.alaceed.alabama.gov/. Once your child is pre-registered, their name will be placed in a lottery. Montevallo Elementary will have a drawing on June 29th of students who have pre-registered up to that morming. The names of these students will be drawn until all slots are filled.

The remaining names will be placed on a waitlist. Students who pre-registered after the drawing will be added to the waitlist in the order in which they pre-registered.

If you already have an account and have enrolled your child in other locations, you can add Montevallo Elementary to you child's account. You do not need to create another account. If your child is already selected for another location, and is selected for Montevallo Elementary Pre-K Program, you will have the option of which location to choose.

Children's names are placed in two categories - Priority 1 (children who live in the school zone) and Priority 2 (children who are zone for another SCS school.) All names from Priority 1 will be drawn first, then all names in
Priority 2 will be drawn. Each child will be given a number based off the order they were selected.

Elvin Hill Elementary and Inverness Elementary have already held their lottery drawings and will proceed to go down the waitlist to fill the new classrooms. If you wish to register your child for these locations, their name will be
placed in the order in which they are received.

UPDATE: Calera and Vincent are now sold out for the June 8th distribution. There are a few remaining meals at Columbiana Middle.

Summer meal distribution is in full swing at Calera Middle, Columbiana Middle, and Vincent Elementary schools!

As a reminder, Calera Middle, Columbiana Middle, and Vincent Elementary School have been approved to provide summer meals for children under 18 years of age during June at no cost.

Each Monday in June, from 9:00-9:30 AM, five breakfast and lunch meals will be provided. The five breakfast and lunch meals will be frozen and packed in an easy-to-transport box along with ten servings of milk.

To ensure there are enough meals and to comply with program requirements, families must register before meal pickup to obtain a ticket with a QR code.

Registration is quick and easy. After each child is registered, a unique QR code will be emailed to the provided address. Check the SPAM folder if the email doesn't appear in the inbox. Open the email, scroll down to the “Order Receipt” section, and click the blue “View Your Order” button to see a copy of the QR code. Please print a copy (or download it to a mobile device) for each child and bring it for meal pickup.

Meals cannot be provided without a ticket that has a scannable QR code. There is a limited number of meals, so registration will close once all tickets are claimed for the distribution date. Families can claim a ticket each week at https://ticketharmony.com/shelby.

Quantities are limited and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The QR code is unique for each child and site. It must be scanned for each child and can only be used at the assigned site.

Registration for meals will begin at 8:00 AM and follow the schedule below:

June 8th distribution - Registration June 2nd - June 7th. (AS OF JUNE 4, CAMS HAS 33 MEALS REMAINING, CAMS HAS 86 MEALS REMAINING, AND VES HAS 13 MEALS REMAINING).
