A high to very high fire danger has been issued by the Wisconsin DNR today across most of the Badger State. Burn permits are suspended today as a result of the situation. All it'll take is a spark from anything for a fire to start and spread. The number one cause of fires in the state, according to the DNR, is debris burning. This is the main reason why burn permits get suspended during times of high fire danger.

Stay on alert on Friday, could get severe weather in the area.

Another round of severe thunderstorms will be possible Friday afternoon and evening. More favorable severe conditions exist along and west-southwest of the I-90 corridor (severe risk of 3 out of 5) with all severe hazards possible. There is uncertainty regarding how far north and east the severe threat extends into southern WI. Still a few days out and the forecast details may shift.
