Highlights from today’s tour of the Special Tactics Training Squadron (STTS) on Hurlburt Field, Florida! As part of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Special Warfare training pipeline, Combat Controllers (CCT), Special Reconnaissance (SR), and Special Tactics Officers (STO) at the STTS, train in a variety of competencies from jump, water confidence/scuba, ATV and all-terrain/tactical vehicle training, land and open-water navigation, advanced weapons and demolition training, airfield surveys, etc. The STTS also houses the Joint Terminal Control Training Rehearsal System (JTC TRS)! This high-fidelity, fully immersive 5-meter dome simulator including MVRsimulation visuals, 3D terrain, and models to allow Operators to maintain qualification currency, provide continuation training, mission rehearsal, and enhance Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) skills. Candidates interested in pursuing STTS training will enter through the Special Warfare Operator Enlistment (SWOE) contract prior to attending Basic Training, SW Prep, and the Assessment and Selection Course.
