⚠️ SCAM ALERT ⚠️

The Colorado County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of scams targeting family members of recently incarcerated individuals. Scammers may use publicly available inmate information and call claiming money is needed for an inmate’s release, bond reduction, or processing fees. Some scammers are also claiming they are with a bail bonds company.

Please remember: Law enforcement will NEVER demand immediate payment over the phone using gift cards, Cash App, Zelle, cryptocurrency, or prepaid cards.

If you receive a suspicious call:
• Do not send money
• Hang up immediately
• Verify information directly with the jail using official phone numbers
• Report the incident to law enforcement

Yesterday evening, Sheridan Lions Club invited Traffic Deputy Zane Blaha and Deputy Nancy Gorman to their monthly meeting.

During this meeting Deputy Blaha answered questions and addressed concerns about traffic laws in reference to ATV’s, electrical bikes, and other traffic safty concerns.

Deputy Gorman explained the importance of the new Sheriff’s App, and explained how to navigate the app.

We appreciate the Lions Club for inviting our Deputies to their meeting.

The Eagle Lake Police Department needs the publics assistance with identifying the person(s) involved with this case

🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE EAGLE LAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT 🚨

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:48 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 400 block of 8th Street in Eagle Lake, Texas.
A 16-year-old male juvenile was struck in the left arm and is currently in stable condition.

The Eagle Lake Police Department is actively investigating this incident and is seeking any information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect(s) involved.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Eagle Lake Police Department at 979-234-2727. If you would like to report any tips anonymously please see the options below.

This case remains under investigation.

Great teamwork from all!

***STOLEN VEHICE RECOVERED***

On Monday, May 25, at approximately 5:35 am, Officers received notification from an Automatic License Plate Reader (LPR) about a stolen vehicle headed eastbound on IH-10.

At approximately 6:06 am, Officers observed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop on it. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit continued into Colorado County where Colorado County Sheriff’s Office deputies successfully deployed a tire deflation device.

The vehicle attempted to go up the shoulder but became stuck. The driver, a female juvenile, was taken into custody and ultimately transported to a Juvenile Detention Facility.
