Columbiana County Republican Women's Club, Carroll County, and Mahoning Valley Republican Women’s Club ( Founded As CRWC In 1964) were all well represented, and the ladies had a full day meeting with members, touring the statehouse, and watching Session!

During yesterday’s House Session, we voted to concur with Senate changes to HB 170, a complex bill that I have been working on for several years. It is now headed to the Governor for his signature! 🖊️

Thank you to my joint sponsor, Representative Peterson and all interested parties who contributed to this piece of legislation so that Ohio can regulate carbon capture and sequestration projects in our own state.

Today in the House Judiciary Committee, Representative Williams and I provided sponsor testimony on HB 622. At its core, this legislation is about making sure our courts have options to protect communities, get individuals with mental illness the treatment they need, and ensure the justice system can function as it was designed. I look forward to future hearings on this important piece of legislation.

Great news for Ohio’s veterans and active-duty service members!

The House Natural Resources Committee recently passed Am. Senate Bill 223, followed by a whole House unanimous vote. This legislation, sponsored by Senator Patton, directs the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to create a 25% discount program for veterans and active military members on State Park services and rentals.

Our service members give so much, and this thoughtful bill ensures they can more easily enjoy the incredible natural beauty right here in the Buckeye State! 🇺🇸

Leading up to this weekend, which is both heavy with sorrow and radiant with gratitude, I was honored to attend and speak in Hanoverton for a Memorial Day Service to honor those who gave the ultimate measure of devotion.

In small towns all across America, we pause, reflect, and remember the names etched in stone and bronze, and the sacrifices made so that we can live freely in the best country in the world, The United States of America.

Thank you to Mayor Becky Kibler, the incredible United High School Band, Rev. Gene Hydrick, and Rev. Mark Wild for a touching day of remembrance.

May God Bless our fallen heroes and their families.🇺🇸

This week I provided Sponsor Testimony alongside my joint sponsor, Representative Kevin Ritter on House Concurrent Resolution 40, legislation urging Congress to enact the Ohio River Restoration Program Act.

The Ohio River Restoration Program Act would establish a comprehensive federal restoration initiative for the Ohio River Basin, a vital system that supports manufacturing, agriculture, shipping, energy production, tourism, and municipal infrastructure across Ohio and the Midwest. The legislation would support investments to improve the quality of drinking water, protect public health, restore ecosystems, and strengthen local economies.

This resolution sends a clear message that Ohio recognizes the importance of preserving and restoring the Ohio River, and that we support bipartisan efforts at the federal level to ensure this critical resource remains healthy and productive for decades to come.
