A few important reminders as absentee ballot REQUESTS start hitting mailboxes.

1: This mailer is an APPLICATION, not a ballot.
2: Voter identification and signature are checked TWICE during the process, first when the absentee ballot is requested and again when the voted ballot is returned.
3: Only valid registered voters who request a ballot can receive a ballot, and only after their information is verified by bipartisan teams at the local board of elections.

📱 Got Ohio Mobile ID? Great, but don’t leave your physical ID at home on Election Day!

Ohio Mobile ID is not a valid form of ID for voting. If you’re voting in person, make sure you have an accepted physical photo ID with you.

To reduce confusion from repeating ballot issue numbers between elections, the Ohio General Assembly passed a law to make statewide ballot issue numbers sequential. The numbering will continue until Issue 500, before restarting at Issue 1 again.

None! Your license remains active unless:

- You’re no longer an ordained or licensed minister authorized to solemnize marriages

- You join a new religious society or congregation

- You change your name

In case you missed it, the Federal Trade Commission released new data showing that people reported losing $3.5 billion to imposter scams. Nearly one in three fraud reports involved imposter scams, originating via text, phone, email, social media, search engine results, and other means.

Asked to officiate a wedding in Ohio? Before you say “you may kiss the bride,” make sure you’re properly registered with the Ohio Secretary of State.

Any ordained or licensed minister of a religious society or congregation may obtain a license to perform marriages in Ohio. Applications can be completed online, and out-of-state credentials are accepted.

While Ohio always reports the unofficial results on Election Night, the Official Canvass takes place within 21 days of the election. During that time, boards of elections carefully review and count provisional ballots, cured absentee ballots, and any other valid votes. This process ensures every eligible vote is counted accurately and transparently for the final tally.
