The Commons The Commons

The Commons is a community gathering place in the heart of downtown Columbus. Building on the strong foundation of the original structure, The Commons opened in April 2011 as a 21st century model for public gatherings and use by the community. The new structure features an expanded indoor playground, complete with a Luckey climber, expanded Miller-Tangeman Lobby featuring Chaos, a Jean Tinguely sculpture created for the original Commons, the Nugent-Custer Performance Hall, The Patio and the Xenia Miller Conference Room (free for not-for-profit organizations to use). For information about rentals of any of The Commons areas, contact The Commons at (812) 376-2681.

Join us for #GivingTuesdayNow on Tuesday, May 5th!

We know the world is not going to be the same after the pandemic is over, but we, at the Columbus Park Foundation, want to be able to provide some normalcy to the young people in our community.

The Chuck Wilt Youth Scholarship allows the young people in our community to indulge in their passion for a sport or program they may not have otherwise been able to experience.

On May 5th, by donating $105, you can help a child pursue their passion!
Donate online at www.columbusparkfoundation.org.

I am an assistant recruiter with the Federal Census Bureau. The Census Bureau is hiring local people for various positions for the 2020 Census. We would be grateful if you could include our on line job application: 2020census.gov/jobs for your members or community in any periodical that may be distributed. Thanks again.
Need some repairs and a cleaning BADLY! This step is sharp as razor blades!!!
I am not sure who is supposed to clean this play ground but, it is absolutely disgusting. From the looks it has never been cleaned. Babies come here and crawl around on compleye filth.
Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your "International Women's Day" celebration today The Commons! Just Friends Adult Day Services is grateful to have community "friends" that help support us in this way. It was a great venue for awareness.
I have a rant! I strongly believe that the rules for the play area need to be inforced! Parents are dropping their kids off there with no supervision, and other parents are there just sitting on their phones not paying attention to their kids. Especially the older kids definetly do not follow the rules. I saw maybe a couple 12-13 year olds jumping off the red walls and knocking smaller kids to the ground. A mother approached them and told them one of the rules is to not jump off the walls and they just rolled their eyes at her and ended up knocking her kid to the ground. They were also running and not paying attention to anything they were doing. I took my kids and left and not sure if I will be back. I have also saw kids kick the windows out in the red walls and damage other property while parents just sit back and talk or play on their phones. No I'm not a perfect parent but I always watch my kids when I take them there and make sure they follow the rules.
Will the playground be open tomorrow, December 30th?
