The Franklin County Su***de Prevention Coalition (in collaboration with the Refugee and Immigrant Mental Health Coalition of Ohio) has 2 upcoming QPR trainings to support caregivers or any youth serving adult who lives, works, or volunteers in Franklin County. The trainings will be offered in English and in Spanish. Su***de is a serious issue, and recognizing warning signs can save lives. Signs include withdrawal from others, loss of interest in activities, noticeable mood decline, feelings of hopelessness, and comments about death or being a burden. Changes in sleep, appetite, energy levels, and impulsive behavior may also occur.

If you notice these signs, take them seriously. Have a caring, nonjudgmental conversation, listen, and ask if they’re thinking about su***de. Help is available by calling or texting 988, the Su***de and Crisis Lifeline. Your support can make a life-saving difference. No one has to go through this alone.

On 06/02/2026, ETSS Community Health & Wellness attended an outreach event at the Columbus Metropolitan Library Whitehall Branch. We shared flyers, brochures, and community resource information to help connect individuals and families with health and wellness services. Thank you to everyone who visited our table and learned more about the resources available in our community.

Mental Health Matters for Men

This Men's Health Week, let's remember that strength isn't just about pushing through. It's also about checking in, speaking up, and taking care of ourselves.

Men are often encouraged to be strong for everyone else, but their physical and mental health matter too. Routine check-ups, open conversations, and seeking support when needed can make a significant difference.

A simple conversation, a doctor's appointment, or asking someone how they're really doing may help save a life.

Despite the rainy weather, yesterday’s ETSS Job Fair was still a success. We were grateful to connect job seekers with employers and community partners who continue creating opportunities throughout Columbus. Sometimes the biggest impact happens in smaller rooms where real conversations and real connections can take place.

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported, networked, and shared resources with our community. We also appreciate our employer and organizational partners for showing up and investing in workforce development and opportunity.

Events like these remind us that progress does not always have to be loud to be meaningful.
