It's that time again! Our annual Fall Resource Fair is coming up on October 2, from 10AM-1PM.
We’re looking for local resource organizations, farm vendors, and craft vendors to join us for the day. It’s a great opportunity to connect with our seniors and the local community.
We’ll also be serving a free lunch to our attendees and vendors!
If you’re interested in being a vendor, please call (828) 894-0001.
As always, there is no vendor fee! We hope you’ll join us!

Exercise classes are booming and we couldn't be more excited, however, due to the rapid growth in participation for Cardio Beats (drumming), we will no longer be able to reserve spots. Starting this Thursday, Cardio Beats classes will be first-come, first-serve.

We had a blast at our first ever Watermelon Splash Bash! Big thanks to the Columbus Fire Department, EMS, and Public Transportation for coming out and helping make the event extra special! We will definitely do this again next year! 🍉 💦 😎

At The Meeting Place, we're always looking for caring individuals who would enjoy sharing their skills and interests with our senior community.

You don't have to be a professional or commit to a regular schedule. Whether you'd like to lead a one-time activity or become an ongoing volunteer, we'd love to hear your ideas!

Cooking demonstrations

They notice what the rest of us miss.

Some of the folks who need us most aren’t the ones who call.

They’re the neighbors who don’t want to be a bother. Who figure someone worse off should get the help first. Who’ve been living with a leaky roof or a busted ramp since the storm and just… haven’t said anything.

That’s why we’re so glad to be partnering with Polk County Senior Services- The Meeting Place - Meals on Wheels.

Their drivers are in and out of homes across this county five days a week, and for a lot of homebound residents, they’re the only face they see all week. They notice things. The roof that’s still not fixed. The porch step that isn’t safe anymore. The quiet way someone’s struggling.

Now, when they see it, they can connect that person straight to us.

I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it — recovery isn’t something any one group can do alone. It takes people paying attention, and people willing to make the call. Grateful doesn’t even cover how we feel about this partnership.
