The Columbus 28th Annual MLK Day committee warmly invites the community to join the program, themed “All-In: It’s Time to be Uncomfortable.” The event will include brief remarks and community updates from Mayor Mary Ferdon and BCSC Superintendent Chad Phillips. The keynote address will be delivered by Bishop Johnny Edwards, Sr., Pastor of Abundant Harvest Ministries – Columbus, and President of the Columbus/Bartholomew County Branch of the NAACP.
Once again, the breakfast will be offered free to the community, and six $1,000 MLK Scholarships will be awarded to college-bound high school graduates. Additionally, Ivy Tech Community College and IU Columbus will each provide a matching $1,000 Scholarship for recipients attending their institutions. Furthermore, each winner will receive an extra $1,500 Scholarship from the African American Foundation to assist with sophomore year tuition. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need, academic success, extracurricular involvement, and community service.

Did you know?

A great fact about disc golf and course design is that it is not destructive to nature. Disc golf utilizes the natural landscape to build courses. Trees can make great obstacles and mandatories. Hills and turns can make a hole interesting and requires players to think about how to best approach the basket. 🥏

Join us for our FREE Disc Golf Putting League running through February 27th! cbusinparks.com/discgolf
