We’ve got exciting news! 🎉Construction of Freedom Field Playground—our largest accessible playground—will start in early 2027!

Check out these renderings! They show the actual playground equipment and design that will be constructed.

We’ve listened to your feedback, benchmarked other successfully accessible playgrounds, and taken a closer look at how we can create a space that met our one true goal: to create a playground where children of all abilities can play together, connect and belong!

Some of the features include:
-More integrated, ground-level play elements that allow kids to play alongside each another, regardless of physical limitations.
-An arrangement that creates opportunities for social interaction.
-New turf that is durable and sustainable, with lower maintenance over time.

This is a significant investment in our community. The approximately $1.3 million project is fully funded through secured capital funds and donations.

We know everyone has been eagerly awaiting Freedom Field, and we appreciate your patience as we took the time to get this design right! Lots of thought and planning have gone into ensuring we create the greatest possible space and impact for Columbus families.

We can’t wait to see Freedom Field come to life!
