A contingent of 121st Air Refueling Wing Airmen recently returned home after a deployment to the Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility. The Airmen of the 121 ARW routinely deploy worldwide, providing crucial air refueling capabilities to the Department of War.

Last Friday, we conducted our annual Individual Ready Reserve (IRR) muster screening, bringing together prior service members to verify critical medical, contact, and readiness data. By maintaining this face-to-face connection, we ensure this "trained, full-up round" force is prepared to rapidly mobilize and answer the call if the Nation needs them.

Beyond ensuring vital mission readiness, the event also provided an invaluable forum for Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, and Active Component recruiters to connect with veterans interested in exploring new opportunities to serve in uniform once again.

Airmen with the 121st break down their experience navigating an intensive cold-weather training at Camp James A. Garfield. ❄️

These Airmen faced real-world survival challenges during the exercise like constructing overnight shelters, rucking through freezing temperatures, and conducting a simulated night time rescue mission. By confronting these harsh conditions head-on, these Defenders developed the tactical resiliency and teamwork necessary to operate in any environment.

For 250 years, the torch of liberty has been kept alive by those willing to sacrifice everything.

This Memorial Day, the 121st Air Refueling Wing pauses to honor our own, lost in the skies over Iraq on March 12, 2026.

Our first combat losses since World War II. They, along with Maj Alex Klinner, Maj Ariana Savino, and TSgt Ashely Pruitt, join the long line of American patriots who gave their last full measure of devotion.

To their families, and to the Airmen carrying their mission forward across the globe: you are not alone. We remember. We heal together.

Memorial Day takes on an even greater significance for us. It is the names of our brothers. It is the heavy silence in our hangar.
Seth, Curtis, and Ty—you bought our freedom with your lives. The torch you carried now burns in us, and we will guard its light forever.

Rest easy, heroes.
