As a veteran of the United States Army, this infuriates me, but you shouldn’t have to be a military veteran to say that this is just unacceptable. Those that are replacing the POW/MIA flag with ANY OTHER FLAG are just plain wrong, even if it is their “right”.

To all veterans in and around Bartholomew County. Don't get sucked into doing business with an outside firm for compensation claims, pension and Survivor pension claims. You can get the same service right in your own town. We do everything and more for you than these out of states firms. Trust your hometown people to work for you. We are County and don’t charge for our service.

How Can YOU help support the USO at
Camp Atterbury?
There are countless ways volunteers can support the USO, but they all share an abiding dedication to our service members and their families. Whether it’s helping out at a special event, cheering troops at homecoming, manning a front desk or providing a listening ear, our volunteers are the reason service members know they can count on the USO.
Volunteering
Interested in becoming a USO volunteer Center Host? Visit volunteers.uso.org to submit a volunteer interest form. You will click Register Here and then search for Camp Atterbury!
Support an event! Volunteer to bring in food, support a pancake breakfast or a cookout or maybe provide entertainment for an event—those are just a few ideas.
Do you have a skillset that you could use to help support the USO? Do you love to clean or organize, can you work on electronics, could you pick up donated supplies in your truck? Those a just a few ways you could help us out!
For those who aren’t able to volunteer their time, there are many other ways to get involved and support the USO.
Donations
USO donors and partners provide critical support that improves the daily lives of service members and their families. We’re not a government agency. We rely on supporters like you to fund the programs that make the biggest difference for those who serve.
Individual Contributions: Your donations make it possible for the USO to support service members and their families. Everything from a snacks, hotdogs, computers and video games. If you are interested in donating an In-Kind items, ask about our Camp Atterbury USO Wish List our find it on our website at: https://indiana.uso.org/support/gifts-in-kind-wish-lists
Gifts in Honor or Memory of Loved One: Honor someone special by making a gift to the USO in his or her name. An honor gift is a meaningful way to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday or the memory of a loved one.
For more information, please contact Jaclyn Bolin, Camp Atterbury USO Center Manager at [email protected] or 812.890.2195.

CAMP ATTERBURY COMMUNITY DAY

Camp Atterbury will again hold its third annual Community Day event, open to the public on Saturday, 16 September 2017. This year the event will be held at the North Barracks complex on the north side of the post from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

This year a Free 5k Suicide Awareness Run will kick off the event at the North Barracks at 8am. All those who participate will receive a free T-shirt.

The annual Memorial Service will start at 9:30am, located at the outdoor museum just passed the main gate. We would like to honor all those who have served through Camp Atterbury in the last 75 years.

Message:
Good morning –

I wanted to reach out to let you know that dentists and teams from local Aspen Dental offices are providing free dental care to veterans on the Aspen Dental MouthMobile, a dental office on wheels on Saturday, July 22 at the American Legion Mall – directly across from the Indianapolis Public Library at 40 E. St. Clair St. Indianapolis, IN 46204.

The dentists will treat the veterans’ most urgent dental need – including fillings, extractions and basic denture repair, all free of charge. This is part of Aspen’s community giving program called the Healthy Mouth Movement, now in its fourth year.

We’d love your help in spreading the word to those you help every day. Interested veterans can call me to make an appointment for Saturday at: 315-430-3189.

Please let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you,
Amy

Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act | About the Program

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 14, 2016
VA Announces Community Care Call Center to Help Veterans with
Choice Program Billing Issues
WASHINGTON – Veterans can now work directly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to resolve debt collection issues resulting
from inappropriate or delayed Choice Program billing. In step with MyVA’s efforts to modernize VA’s customer-focused, Veteran-centered
services capabilities, a Community Care Call Center has been set up for Veterans experiencing adverse credit reporting or debt collection
resulting from inappropriately billed Choice Program claims. Veterans experiencing these problems can call 1-877-881-7618 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Eastern Time) for assistance.
“As a result of the Veterans Choice Program, community providers have seen thousands of Veterans. We continue to work to make the
program more Veteran-friendly,” said Dr. David Shulkin, Under Secretary for Health. “There should be no bureaucratic burden that stands in the
way of Veterans getting care.”
The new call center will work to resolve instances of improper Veteran billing and assist community care medical providers with delayed
payments. VA staff are also trained and ready to work with the medical providers to expunge adverse credit reporting on Veterans resulting from
delayed payments to providers.VA is urging Veterans to continue working with their VA primary care team to obtain necessary health care
services regardless of adverse credit reporting or debt collection activity.
VA acknowledges that delayed payments and inappropriately billed claims are unacceptable and have caused stress for Veterans and
providers alike. The new call center is the first step in addressing these issues. VA presented The Plan to Consolidate Community Care in
October of 2015 that outlines additional solutions to streamline processes and improve timely provider payment.
For more details about the Veterans Choice Program and VA’s progress, visit: www.va.gov/opa/choiceact . Veterans seeking to use the
Veterans Choice Program can call1-866-606-8198 (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Eastern Time) to find out more about the program, confirm their eligibility
and schedule an appointment.

THIS JUST RELEASED BY THE AMERICAN LEGION

VETERANS CHOICE PROGRAM (VCP) PHONE LINE IMPOSTER
FACT SHEET
APRIL 27, 2017
VCP Phone Line Imposter
It has come to VA’s attention that a phone line has been set up by an unknown party to potentially "mimic" the VCP phone line. This imposter phone line may be intended to reach Veterans who inadvertently dial the VCP number incorrectly.
We want you to know that we are taking this seriously and to keep you aware of the steps we are taking.. VHA Office of Community Care (VHA CC) has reported the “mimic” line to the VA Office of Inspector General for a possible civil or criminal investigation.
“Mimic” Phone Line
The phone line established to “mimic” the VCP phone line is 1-800-606-8198. You know you have reached the wrong VCP phone line when:
• The phone line offers callers a $100 rebate if the caller provides a credit card.
• The phone line does not state the caller has reached U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or the VCP phone line.
Be aware that this phone number incorrectly confirms callers had reach the VCP if the caller asks that question.
VCP Phone Line
The correct VCP phone line is 1-866-606-8198. This line is for Veterans to check their eligibility for the VCP and ask questions about the program.
If you are unsure if you have reached the correct phone line, hang up and dial 1-866-606-8198 again. The phone line will state the called has reach the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
