ith the message that they can survive middle & high school with their character and their self-esteem intact – and that a life lived by integrity is the very best and most rewarding life! Outside of school, the student members connect in ways that are both fun and meaningful, building real bonds of acceptance and support. They sign a contract together promising to be completely drug, alcohol, and tobacco free, and to live a life of character and integrity as role models and leaders for their peers. Then in 17 area middle and high schools, during the school day, these Teen Advisors lead classroom discussions with their peers, talking about the different pressures that teenagers have to face: drinking & drugs, dating & sex, parents,friends, depression, stress, loneliness, self-injury, and more. These older students serve as role models for the younger students both in and out of class, sharing their life experiences, listening to common struggles, and offering advice.
