The transition away from perchlorethylene (PERC) will primarily affect small businesses. Replacing this harmful solvent with safer alternatives will create healthier workplaces, but making the transition comes at a cost to do so.

OAQDA is ready to help. OAQDA targets financial assistance through its Small Business Clean Air Program, and helped Apparel Care Cleaners, a Southwest Ohio business, access more affordable financing to meet federal Clean Air Act requirements, modernize operations with a healthier workplace, eliminate harmful solvents, and protect local jobs.

This partnership is helping a long-standing small business invest in its future and continue serving its community.

Rising energy costs continue to impact Ohio businesses. OAQDA was proud to attend the 2026 The Ohio Manufacturers' Association Energy Conference, connecting with manufacturers, energy leaders, and partners from across the state to discuss strategies that help businesses improve energy efficiency, manage operating costs, and remain competitive.

Our financing programs help businesses invest in energy-saving technologies and infrastructure that supports long-term growth while protecting against rising energy costs.

OAQDA has been helping Ohio’s small businesses invest in their future for decades.

In 2003, OAQDA provided financial support for Findlay Body Repair Co. to install a new auto body spray booth and paint mixing room, helping the company modernize its operations and invest in its future.

Projects like this are exactly the kind of investments supported through OAQDA’s Small Business Clean Air Program today.

OAQDA is seeking Ohio financial institutions to participate in the Small Business Clean Air Program as participating lenders and bond purchasers. The network of lending partners will use a streamlined, standardized financing process to benefit small business borrowers by reducing transaction costs, shortening closing timelines, and accessing affordable capital and incentives. https://ohioairquality.ohio.gov/about/05-rfqs
