Today, celebrated Chief Stoney Mathis as he prepares to close this chapter with the Columbus Police Department.

The day began with a staff luncheon, followed by a public walk-through celebration where members of the community stopped by to wish him well. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day special. 💙

Happening today! Join for a walk-through farewell celebration honoring Chief Stoney Mathis from noon to 2 p.m. in the Community Room of the Public Safety Building (510 10th Street).

We invite residents and community partners to stop by to wish him well and thank him for his service to Columbus.

Cake and punch will be served. Roz's Café and Catering Services will also be on site with meals available for purchase. We hope to see you there! 💙

Building positive relationships starts early, and we appreciate every opportunity to show kids that our officers are here for them, both in and out of the classroom. 💙

When an emergency call comes in, the people answering the phone and those responding depend on each other.

recently recognized members of the Special Operations Unit and 911 Center (Team C) for their response during a critical incident that claimed an innocent life and involved an officer-involved shooting. We remember the innocent life taken as we honor those who faced evil head-on and the voices on the radio who helped them confront it.
