This past Sunday, August 23rd, our Mansfield Township Ambulance Corps. cadets spent their monthly drill putting their skills to work!
Working in crews, the cadets responded to hands-on scenarios that included managing a cardiac arrest and assessing, treating, and safely moving a patient with an arm injury. Throughout the drill, they also practiced important everyday EMS skills, including obtaining vital signs, gathering patient demographics, and communicating effectively with patients.
We are incredibly proud of the hard work and enthusiasm our cadets continue to bring to each drill. Every training session is another opportunity to learn, build confidence, work as a team, and prepare for their futures in EMS

Mansfield Township Ambulance Corps. would like to thank the Mansfield Township Special Events Committee, Franklin Fire Company, Mansfield Township Police Department, JeffSTAT and SouthStar helicopters, along with all of the organizations, vendors, and volunteers who helped make National Night Out 2026 such a success.
Most importantly, thank you to our amazing community for coming out to spend the evening with us. We truly enjoyed meeting so many of you and sharing what we do.
A special thank you to our cadets, who showed up in full force and represented our organization with professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication. We are incredibly proud of each of you and appreciate everything you did to help make the evening such a memorable one.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, we're already looking forward to next year!

Today, our Cadets had the incredible opportunity to visit Rowan College at Burlington County's Health Sciences Center for an exciting and educational field trip.
Throughout the day, our cadets toured the state-of-the-art Health Sciences building and learned about a variety of healthcare careers through presentations from the Dental, Radiography, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Nursing, and Emergency Medical Services (EMT and Paramedic) programs.
One of the highlights of the visit was the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiences throughout the simulation labs, giving our cadets a firsthand look at the technology, training, and teamwork involved in today's healthcare professions. It was an outstanding opportunity for them to explore the many career paths available in healthcare while interacting with RCBC faculty and staff.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Rowan College at Burlington County for welcoming our cadets and providing such a memorable and inspiring experience. Opportunities like this help shape the future of EMS and healthcare by encouraging the next generation of providers.
We are incredibly proud of our cadets and look forward to seeing where their passion for helping others takes them!

☀️ Extreme Heat is Expected This Week ☀️
The National Weather Service is forecasting dangerously hot temperatures and heat index values in the Columbus area through the July 4th holiday. Extreme heat can develop into a medical emergency in a matter of minutes if proper precautions aren't taken.
As you enjoy outdoor activities, barbecues, parades, and fireworks, remember to:
• Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
• Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
• Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
• Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute.
• Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone with chronic medical conditions.
Know the warning signs:
• Heat Exhaustion: Heavy sweating, dizziness, weakness, nausea, muscle cramps, and cool, clammy skin.
• Heat Stroke: High body temperature, hot or dry skin, confusion, altered mental status, or loss of consciousness.
Heat stroke is a life-threatening emergency. If you suspect someone is suffering from heat stroke, call 9-1-1 immediately and begin cooling the person while waiting for EMS.
Stay safe, stay hydrated, and enjoy a happy and healthy Independence Day week!

Today we were at Fernbrook Farms teaching this year's summer camp counselors First Aid and CPR skills. We're proud to help equip these counselors with the knowledge and confidence needed to handle emergencies and keep campers safe throughout the season.

A great group, a great day, and an important investment in safety!

Our department had the pleasure of teaching CPR, AED use, and choking rescue techniques to community members at the Four Seasons Clubhouse and the Columbus Grange.

Knowing how to respond in an emergency can make the difference between life and death. When someone experiences cardiac arrest, immediate CPR and early use of an AED can significantly increase their chances of survival. Likewise, knowing how to help someone who is choking can save a life in just seconds.

These are simple skills that anyone can learn, and you never know when you may be called upon to help a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor.

We would like to thank everyone who attended and took the time to learn these lifesaving skills. Together, we are building a safer and more prepared community.

You may notice a large emergency response presence in the area including ambulances, fire apparatus, and law enforcement vehicles.

There is NO reason for alarm.
