The Ohio State University Division of Medical Dietetics Preparing Registered Dietitian Nutritionists for the future!

TODAY
• Accredited in 2009 for 10 years

• Coordinated Undergraduate Program:
22 sophomores, 22 juniors, and 23 seniors

• Coordinated Graduate Program:
Year 1 – 5 students, Year 2 – 5 students

• Program utilizes 110 sites per year throughout central Ohio (students drive as far as 60 miles for a site)

• This past year, 148 outstanding practitioners volunteered to precept our students

• Approx

imately 85 students applied for the coordinated program

• Mean GPA of entering class 3.7

• Of the 25 students who graduated in 2010, 23 have written the registration exam and all have passed

• Of the 25 students who graduated in 2010, 20 have positions in acute care, Abbott Nutrition, foodservice, WIC and long term care

• 97% of the responding preceptors (n=46) rated the graduating students above average or excellent in their preparedness and readiness to practice at the entry level

Celebrating an exciting highlight for one of our MDN students!

Jade was recently featured in the Ohio State Alumni Magazine, recognizing her impact through the Garden of Hope. In Spring 2025, Jade helped plant and care for vegetables in this special space, which offers cancer patients a place for peace, healing, and access to nourishing food. 🥬🌶️🥒🌽🥕

Our faculty continue to do amazing things- and not just around nutrition! Dr. Colleen Spees recently participated in a panel at the ISBNPA Conference in Cádiz, Spain, joining colleagues from around the world to advance conversations on behavioral nutrition and physical activity. Proud to see her sharing insights and representing our program among such inspiring leaders in the field. 👏

She also scales mountains in her spare time. Apparently, she is not scared of heights 😆
