Public health is SO much more than what you see on your feed. ❤️

Yes, we give vaccines. Yes, we share important health alerts. But the work of public health reaches into so many parts of everyday life.

From supporting moms and babies to helping families access essential health services, promoting healthy habits, preventing disease, preparing for emergencies and connecting our communities with resources — we’re here to help people live healthier lives.

Because public health isn’t just about responding when something goes wrong. It’s about helping build healthier, stronger communities every single day.

That’s public health. ❤️

Supporting Families. Strengthening Communities.

Ready to remix your walk? 👟

This , try changing up your pace to make your usual walk a little more challenging:

🚶 Walk easy for 3 minutes at a comfortable pace.
💨 Walk briskly for 3 minutes at a faster pace.
🔁 Keep alternating for up to 30 minutes.

Adding intervals to your walk is a simple way to challenge yourself and may help improve heart health, endurance and leg strength.

No special equipment needed—just a comfortable pair of shoes and a little time to get moving!

Save this workout and give it a try on your next walk. ❤️

Back-to-school prep is about more than pencils, backpacks and new shoes. 👓👂🏽 Healthy hearing and clear vision can make a big difference in how children learn, communicate and feel in the classroom.

As the school year gets underway, watch for signs that your child may be having trouble seeing or hearing, including:
👀 Squinting or difficulty seeing the board
👂 Delayed speech
🔊 Frequently asking “What?”
📚 Trouble focusing or following along

Routine screenings can help identify potential concerns early and connect children with the support they need to be ready to learn.

Children’s Medical Services (CMS) may be able to help eligible children with hearing evaluations, vision care referrals and specialty support services.

Quitting to***co is easier when you’re prepared for the moments a craving hits. 🚭

Build your own “quit kit” with a few simple items you can reach for when you need a distraction, encouragement or a reminder of why you started:

💧 Water to keep your hands and mouth busy
🍬 Sugar-free gum for cravings
🥜 A healthy snack
🧘 A stress ball or another way to keep your hands occupied
📱 A support contact you can call or text
📓 A notebook to write down your goals, progress and reasons for quitting

Keep your kit somewhere easy to grab—at home, at work or in your car. Every smoke-free day is progress worth celebrating.

You don’t have to quit alone. Reach out to your healthcare provider or local health department for support and resources that can help you along the way.
