The City of Rushville wowed the audience today at Landmark Columbus Foundation ‘s inaugural class of Indiana Quality of Place Learning Partnership. Mayor Pavey (ARa BOD Member!) shared the journey of transformation over the last decade. Rushville joins cities of Muncie, Terre Haute, and Michigan city at the National Summit on Design Excellence as Civic Practice hosted in Visit Columbus, Indiana . What a great group working together and learning from each other to make their communities better than they are today!

City of Rushville Mayor Mike Pavey , one of our ARa Members, presented today at the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs summit. He shared the story of Rushville and how the community has developed in the last decade. His presentation touched on community engagement, strategic use of grants, and a focused commitment on making his community a place where people want to Live, Work, and Visit. We are proud to have Rushville as an ARa Legacy Member. Keep an eye on that town and Mayor Pavey - great things are continuing to happen!

It’s bid opening day for one of our clients!

One of the things ARa helps with is coordinating procurement for federal grant funds. In this case we worked with an engineer to put together a bid package that was advertised and now publicly opened. The client will then go through the process to identify the lowest, most responsive, most responsible bidder for their project.

This particular project is about exterior improvements for low-moderate income apartments funded by ARPA dollars. Good things are happening!

The quarterly ARa Board of Directors meeting was yesterday and we want to thank the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce, Indiana for being our host! Board members, including The City of Greensburg, IN Mayor Josh Marsh and The City of Columbus, Indiana Mayor Mary Ferdon, heard from IU Columbus faculty member Dr. Ryan Brewer. Dr. Brewer pulled together a custom set of economic indicators that encompassed our Legacy Member portfolio and engaged the group in an informative and spirited discussion on what the trends were showing. We loved it and appreciated his thoughtful commentary and efforts. Thanks, Dr. Brewer!

The County is applying for a $500,000 grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) to help qualified homeowners secure no cost, eligible home repairs.

As part of the application process, we're asking community members to complete a short online survey regarding housing repair needs in Bartholomew County. It only takes a few minutes to complete and your voice is important.

Even if you do not plan to apply for assistance yourself, your feedback will strengthen the County's grant application and help demonstrate the need within the Bartholomew County community.
