Pamela Clinkenbeard thought her 21-year-old daughter, Abby, had the flu. Then, she collapsed at home.

Abby was rushed to UC Health West Chester Hospital. Doctors discovered she was in septic shock, but after days in the ICU, Abby survived and recovered.

“If I would've let her stay at home, the doctor told me she probably wouldn't be here today.”

During Sepsis Awareness Month, their story highlights the importance of recognizing sepsis and seeking treatment quickly.
