**Cherokee County Heat Advisory**

The National Weather Service has issued a **Heat Advisory** for Cherokee County from **noon Tuesday, June 9, until 7:00 AM Wednesday, June 10.**

Heat index values up to **104°** are expected.

Hot temperatures and high humidity can lead to heat-related illness. Please take precautions:

• Drink plenty of water
• Stay in air conditioning when possible
• Avoid extended time outdoors
• Check on elderly neighbors, family, pets, and those without reliable cooling
• Never leave children or pets inside a vehicle

Join us for a fun and educational day learning all about mushrooms with J-M Farms from Miami, OK. Enjoy a delicious lunch catered by The Smittle House, then take part in a hands-on planting activity you can take home and enjoy.

Free Fishing Weekend - This Saturday and Sunday, June 6 & 7, no Kansas fishing license is needed. Residents and out-of-state visitors may enjoy fishing on any public waters. Other regulations remain in effect including local fishing permits where required.
