Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas that is produced when a carbon-based fuel, such as gasoline, propane, or charcoal, burns. It only takes a few breaths to kill you. If you smell exhaust, CO is present. When boating, be aware of CO and know the signs of CO poisoning.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless gas that is heavier than air and lighter than water so it sits on top of the water's surface. It only takes a few breaths to kill you. That's one reason you should always wear a life jacket when boating and swimming around boats.
