She Reached for Her Dream—Then Made Room for Others to Reach Theirs
Celebrating Reach 4 Your Dreamz Founder Dr. Gwennetta Wright and 20 Years of Entrepreneurship
On September 1, 2026, Dr. Gwennetta Wright celebrated 20 years as an entrepreneur.
For Reach 4 Your Dreamz, that milestone means something deeper than a business anniversary.
Because before she could encourage anyone else to reach for a dream, Gwennetta had to learn how to reach for her own.
Her story did not begin with millions of dollars, a business portfolio, awards, books, stages or the title “Dr.”
It began in Buena Vista Estates in Columbus, Georgia.
It continued through the halls of G.W. Carver High School.
Her first job was at Burger King.
Later came traditional employment, including Kysor Warren—the kind of work many people grow up believing represents security and success.
There was nothing at that point that guaranteed she would become an entrepreneur.
There certainly wasn't anything guaranteeing that the business she would eventually create would still be standing 20 years later.
But there was a dream.
A Different Kind of Future
In 2006, Gwen made a decision that would ultimately affect far more people than she could have known at the time.
She stepped into entrepreneurship.
She invested her own resources, took the risk and built Xpert Tax Service.
There was no blueprint guaranteeing success.
There were simply decisions that had to be made, bills that had to be paid, clients who had to be served and a business that had to be built.
One client became another.
One tax season became five.
Five became ten.
And eventually, ten became twenty.
Over those two decades, Xpert Tax Service grew into an 8-figure business.
But revenue alone doesn't tell the story.
Because while Gwen was building businesses, something else was happening.
Her success began creating opportunities for other people.
Her Dream Became Bigger Than Her
Family members became tax professionals and business owners.
Young people received some of their first work experiences through businesses connected to the family.
People were exposed to entrepreneurship who may not have grown up seeing business ownership as something available to them.
Jobs were created.
Tax professionals were trained.
Businesses were attempted, built, changed and sometimes started again.
And children grew up watching all of it.
They didn't learn entrepreneurship from a textbook.
They watched it happen.
They saw the long days.
They saw tax season.
They saw businesses open.
They saw ideas that worked and ideas that didn't.
They saw women in their own family create something from the ground up.
That is part of legacy too.
But Success Was Never Supposed to Stop at the Family
As the businesses grew, so did the responsibility to give back.
That spirit became deeply connected to Reach 4 Your Dreamz.
Over the years, Gwen, her family, team and supporters have participated in Christmas programs, food assistance, community activities, youth initiatives and other efforts designed to help families who needed support.
Some years were bigger than others.
Some events were large.
Some acts of service happened quietly.
But the philosophy remained:
You don't have to wait until you have everything to give something.
For children who received Christmas gifts, it may have simply felt like Christmas.
For a family receiving food, it may have simply meant one less thing to worry about.
For a young person watching entrepreneurs from their own community, it may have planted an entirely different kind of seed:
Maybe I can do something different with my life too.
That's why community work matters.
Sometimes you never get to see what grows from the seed you planted.
Twenty Years Later, She Went Back
For her 20th anniversary, Gwen didn't only celebrate at a beautiful dinner or receive an award.
Her family took her back.
Back to Buena Vista Estates.
Back to Carver High School.
Back to Burger King.
Back to Kysor Warren.
And finally, back to Xpert Tax Service.
There is something powerful about physically standing in the places where earlier versions of yourself once stood.
The young employee at Burger King couldn't see the next 20-plus years.
The worker clocking into a traditional job couldn't see an 8-figure company.
The woman taking a chance on entrepreneurship couldn't know how many people would eventually be connected to that one decision.
But in 2026, she could go back and see it from the other side.
The dream became real.
Not perfectly.
Not easily.
And definitely not without sacrifice.
The Part of Success People Don't Always See
Twenty years of entrepreneurship isn't twenty years of winning.
It's twenty years of continuing.
Businesses go through seasons.
People change.
Relationships change.
Teams change.
Money changes.
Life happens.
There are health challenges, disappointments, mistakes, losses, betrayals, exhaustion and moments when walking away would probably be easier than continuing.
And yet, somehow, you get up and do what needs to be done.
That is why celebrating 20 years means more than celebrating what people can see today.
We are also honoring everything it took to still be here.
This Is Why Reach 4 Your Dreamz Matters
Reach 4 Your Dreamz carries a name that has become almost autobiographical.
Gwen reached for hers.
But the story didn't end when she achieved success.
The responsibility became:
Who else can we help reach theirs?
Who needs an opportunity?
Who needs encouragement?
Who needs resources?
Who needs someone to show them that where they start does not have to determine where they finish?
Who needs to see somebody who came from a neighborhood like theirs build something bigger than what circumstances may have suggested was possible?
That is the heart behind Reach 4 Your Dreamz.
It isn't simply about telling people to dream.
It's about showing them what can happen when somebody decides to pursue one—and then reaches back.
The Next Chapter
On September 1, 2026, Dr. Gwennetta Wright officially reached 20 years of entrepreneurship and Xpert Tax Service reached 20 years in business.
Her Xpert Tax Service family presented her with a special 20 Years of Excellence recognition honoring her leadership, dedication and service.
But perhaps one of the greatest honors isn't something that can be engraved on an award.
It's looking around and realizing:
People are different because you decided to try.
A family is different.
Children were exposed to something different.
People received opportunities.
Families were served.
Communities were touched.
And a dream that started with one woman became big enough to make room for other people's dreams too.
So today, Reach 4 Your Dreamz celebrates its founder, Dr. Gwennetta Wright.
Not simply because she built an 8-figure business.
Not simply because she made it 20 years.
But because she is living proof of the very message behind this organization:
Your beginning doesn't get the final say.
Reach.
Build.
Fall.
Learn.
Get back up.
Give back.
