🚒🔥 25 YEARS OF SERVICE, CAPTAIN RICHARD McBRIDE 🔥🚒

Today, Columbus, MS Fire & Rescue Department honors the retirement of Captain Richard McBride after 25 years of service. 🫡

Captain McBride is hanging up the gear and officially calling it a career!

Around the station, Richard has always been pretty simple to describe: quiet, humble, and never looking for attention.

But when the tones dropped and there was fire showing, Richard was ready to go to work. And we mean GO TO WORK!!! 🔥

No show. No need for recognition. Just an all-out firefighter doing what firefighters do. He was dependable, aggressive when the job called for it, and somebody you wanted working beside you when it was time to get the job done. 🚒

Twenty-five years is a lot of nights away from home. A lot of calls. A lot of missed holidays. A lot of hot Mississippi summers. A lot of fires.

And a whole lot of service to this city. ❤️

So today, we simply want to say:

Thank you, Richard.

Thank you for the work.
Thank you for the memories.
Thank you for the example.
And thank you for giving 25 years to Columbus, MS Fire and Rescue Department and the citizens of Columbus.

Enjoy retirement, Captain.

You earned it! 👏🫡
