Columbus Municipal School District Welcome to the official page for the Columbus Municipal School District located in Columbus Columbus Schools serve the people of the City of Columbus.

The city schools are separate from the county school system. There are five (5) elementary magnet schools, a new state of the art middle school, an award-winning technology center, and a comprehensive high school. CMSD is proud to be the first school district in Mississippi to offer school choice to parents of our kindergarten-fifth grade students. CMSD serves approximately 3,300 students. There are 590 teachers and support personnel.

Boxes are packed at all of the schools, and teachers have prepared for some big moves in the 2026-27 academic school year. This is especially evident at Fairview Elementary. Thousands of children have learned and grown in these hallways, alongside great educators. Now, a new chapter is being written, and we are excited about the changes ahead.

The Columbus Municipal School District's Summer Feeding Program kicks off on June 1st.
It will continue throughout the month at Columbus High, Hunt Intermediate, Cook Elementary, and Stokes-Beard Elementary. All locations will be closed on June 19th.
Breakfast is from 7:30 AM - 8:30 M.
Lunch is 11 AM - 12 PM.
