🎉 Veterans Memorial Park Bathroom Opens August 28! 🚻🇺🇸

We are excited to announce that the new bathroom at Veterans Memorial Park will officially open to the public on August 28th!

This project was built by City of Colusa staff, with help from Scott Vedo, and we are very proud of what our team was able to accomplish for our community.

We also want to thank the residents of Colusa for supporting Measure B. This bathroom is one of the direct projects that Measure B helped make possible. Without Measure B, this improvement would not have been possible.

We want this bathroom to remain open and available to the public for many years to come. The best way we can accomplish that is by taking care of it and preventing vandalism.

👉 Please help us keep an eye on the facility. If you see something that doesn’t look right, please report it to the City. Together, we can make sure this bathroom stays clean, safe, and available for everyone who uses Veterans Memorial Park.

Thank you to our City staff, Scott Vedo, and most importantly, the community for making this project possible!

Another session of great swim lessons start tomorrow!

🌊 LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER! Morning Swim Lessons Start Monday, July 20th! 🌊

We've added new dates, and spots are filling up fast! ☀️🏊‍♂️

Our morning swim sessions begin this coming Monday, July 20th, and run through Thursday, July 30th (Monday–Thursday).

Whether your child is just getting comfortable blowing bubbles or ready to master their strokes, we have a spot for them!

🌟 The BIGGER Beginner Class (Ages 10+) 🌟

Looking to start their swimming journey? We know it can be tough getting a later start at swim lessons, which is why we’ve created this specific class just for those who are feeling "better late than never"!

✅ No experience necessary. We start with the basics!
✅ Small group setting with a certified instructor.
✅ Focus on building water safety, fundamental swimming skills, and confidence.
✅ Comfortable, supportive environment alongside peers their own age (no "kiddie" feel!).

This is the perfect time to gain a life-saving skill and have fun doing it!

U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Extreme Heat Watch for parts of California over the next couple of days. Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, wear light clothing, and check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may need help. Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles. Small precautions can prevent heat-related illness. Stay cool and stay safe.

🏊‍♂️ POOL HOURS NOTICE - WEDNESDAY 7/15 🏊‍♀️

The municipal pool will have adjusted public swim hours tomorrow, Wednesday, July 15th:

⏰ Revised Public Hours: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM

💵 Admission: Just the normal $2 entrance fee for the entire block!

We are combining everything into one larger, continuous afternoon session so you can get plenty of pool time before the meet gets underway. Regular public swim hours will resume standard operations on Thursday, July 16th.

⚠️ Please Note: Due to the timeline of the meet, Adult Lap Swim tomorrow evening may be affected as well. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we host this event!
