On 11/18/2025, at approximately 1039 hours, the Colusa Police Department received a report of a robbery at Wells Fargo. Employees provided an accurate description of the suspect, and responding units quickly located and detained the individual, identified as Christopher Burnham, approximately five blocks away. Evidence from the robbery was recovered from Burnham and a secondary location. He was subsequently booked into the Colusa County Jail for violation of California Penal Code Section 211 - Robbery. Tomorrow is the first day of school. Please take a look at the new drop off map Egling Middle School has come up with. Drive safe tomorrow and please watch for pedestrians. As always you will see our officers out and about making sure it is a safe morning for all children.

News Release-6/27/2025

On 6/25/2025 at approximately 11:30 pm, Colusa Police Department Officers contacted 3 individuals near Main Street and 9th Street. During the contact, several items of suspected stolen property were located. A majority of these items were vehicle key-fabs and other miscellaneous keys. Austin Mitchell (24) and Erika Antrobus (30), both of Colusa, were subsequently arrested for a single count of possession of stolen property. Mitchell was additionally arrested on a weapons-related charge. Both were booked into the Colusa County Jail.

A subsequent collaborative investigation with Williams Police Department and Colusa County Sheriff’s Office Task Force revealed additional theft related crimes such as stolen vehicles and burglaries, Mitchell and Atrobus were responsible for in both the City of Colusa and the City of Williams, including multiple vehicle burglaries in the Country Club Drive area.

On 6/27/2025 at approximately 5:15 pm, a search warrant was executed at Antrobus and Mitchell’s residence located in the 1400 block of Wescott Road. Additional evidence was located and seized. Mitchell and Antrobus were arrested on additional charges associated with the Colusa thefts as well as arrest warrants issued in conjunction with the thefts in the City of Williams. Both were booked into the Colusa County Jail a second time.

Colusa Police Department News Release
Three arrested while attempting to flee from commercial burglary

1/28/2025

On 1/28/2025 at approximately 0400 hours, Colusa Police Department Officers responded to the 700 block of Fremont Street in reference to a commercial burglary alarm. As officers arrived on-scene, 3 suspects fled in a white Dodge Hornet. A pursuit was initiated, during which a spike strip was deployed. The suspect vehicle came to a stop in the center median of I-5 near Freshwater. The 3 suspects fled on foot but were apprehended not far from the vehicle. The suspects, Davon Owens, Frank Cason, and Romanie McKnight, all from Sacramento, were booked into the Colusa County Jail on charges related to the burglary and the pursuit. Later in the morning, it was discovered that the 3 were involved in burglary at another nearby business. Additional charges were added to their booking at Colusa County Jail. This is the second commercial burglary resulting in multiple arrests during the last 31 days. On 12/27/2024, 2 suspects attempting to flee a commercial burglary in the 100 block of Bridge Street were apprehended after a brief pursuit. The suspects arrested were identified as Joseph Russell Jr and Marquis Lewis.

The Colusa Police Department was assisted by the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office, Williams Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol during both incidents. The collaboration among Colusa County law enforcement agencies is invaluable to the community. We appreciate the on-going collaboration as well.
