Three arrested while attempting to flee from commercial burglary

On 1/28/2025 at approximately 0400 hours, Colusa Police Department Officers responded to the 700 block of Fremont Street in reference to a commercial burglary alarm. As officers arrived on-scene, 3 suspects fled in a white Dodge Hornet. A pursuit was initiated, during which a spike strip was deployed. The suspect vehicle came to a stop in the center median of I-5 near Freshwater. The 3 suspects fled on foot but were apprehended not far from the vehicle. The suspects, Davon Owens, Frank Cason, and Romanie McKnight, all from Sacramento, were booked into the Colusa County Jail on charges related to the burglary and the pursuit. Later in the morning, it was discovered that the 3 were involved in burglary at another nearby business. Additional charges were added to their booking at Colusa County Jail. This is the second commercial burglary resulting in multiple arrests during the last 31 days. On 12/27/2024, 2 suspects attempting to flee a commercial burglary in the 100 block of Bridge Street were apprehended after a brief pursuit. The suspects arrested were identified as Joseph Russell Jr and Marquis Lewis.
The Colusa Police Department was assisted by the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office, Williams Police Department, and the California Highway Patrol during both incidents. The collaboration among Colusa County law enforcement agencies is invaluable to the community. We appreciate the on-going collaboration as well.
