ROADWAY UPDATE – ADDY-GIFFORD ROAD NOW OPEN / CEDONIA-ADDY ROAD CLOSING MONDAY

Addy-Gifford Road is now open to through traffic.

Beginning Monday, August 10, Cedonia-Addy Road will once again close as construction resumes on the Cedonia-Addy Roadway Rehabilitation Project.
As Addy-Gifford Road once again becomes the primary alternate route, we ask everyone to please slow down and use extreme caution.

⚠️ There is still significant wildfire activity in the area. Firefighters, emergency vehicles, utility crews, heavy equipment, and other responders continue to work along and near the roadway.
Please remember that the posted speed limit through the active fire area is 25 MPH. This reduced speed is in place to protect emergency responders, work crews, and the traveling public.
Please help keep everyone safe by:

• Obeying the posted 25 MPH speed limit through the fire area.
• Watching for firefighters, emergency vehicles, and equipment entering and leaving the roadway.
• Follow directions from emergency personnel.
• Allowing extra travel time, as brief delays may occur.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue both the wildfire response and the Cedonia-Addy Roadway Rehabilitation Project. Your attention and reduced speeds help protect emergency responders, construction crews, and everyone traveling through the area.

PUBLIC NOTICE
WILDFIRE ROAD CLOSURES & CEDONIA-ADDY ROAD UPDATE

At this time, all roads within a Level 3 ("Go Now") evacuation zone shown on the Stevens County Public Information Map should be considered closed.

Stevens County Public Information Map:
https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/9cd2ea8b059b4c87939f83461fd57894

Current primary road closures include:

Bradeen Fire
• Addy-Gifford Road

Hudspeth Fire
• Springdale-Hunters Road

Autumn Lane Fire
• Jergens Road
• S. Swenson Road

Mitre Rock Fire
• Kieffer Road

Please remember that any secondary roads not listed above, but located within a Level 3 evacuation area, should also be considered closed.

Most road closures are marked with barricades and signs. However, because fire conditions can change rapidly, closures may be relocated or additional roads may be closed with little notice. Please rely on both the Stevens County Public Information Map and the conditions you encounter in the field. If you come upon a road closure, emergency personnel, or unsafe conditions, do not proceed.

Cedonia-Addy Road Update

Cedonia-Addy Road is currently open to through traffic to provide access during the wildfire response, as the alternate routes normally used during the construction project have been closed due to the fires.
Motorists are asked to drive slowly and use extreme caution through the construction area. Although there are no construction crews on site during this temporary opening, the project remains an active construction zone.

Incident Command is currently reevaluating evacuation levels for alternate route reopenings. Once the Level 3 evacuation on Addy-Gifford Road is lifted, Stevens County Public Works will resume construction activities on the Cedonia-Addy Road Project, and road closures will again be implemented as necessary to safely complete the remaining work. Additional public notices will be issued before those restrictions are put back in place.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as our emergency responders continue working around the clock to protect the people, property, and communities of Stevens County.
