I’ve been sitting with this for a while, because it honestly hurts to write. The results are now certified, and I officially did not win my race for Commerce City Council At-Large.

I put my heart and soul into this campaign. I poured everything I had into trying to make a positive difference for our community, and knowing that I came up short has been really hard to process. What weighs on me the most is feeling like I let down the people who believed in me, the people who supported, encouraged, and stood by me every step of the way. I’m truly sorry that I wasn’t able to deliver the win we were fighting for together.

This was an incredibly close race and we lost by just 1.96%. We were right on the edge, close enough that every single vote, every conversation, and every ounce of support truly mattered. Knowing that thousands of residents believed in the message we carried gives me so much hope, and it shows how competitive and meaningful the campaign really was.

Even though this wasn’t the outcome most of us hoped for, I want you to know how deeply grateful I am. Every conversation, every message, every yard sign, every vote, it all meant more than I can ever express. You gave me strength on the hardest days, and you reminded me why I care so much about this community.

I’m going to take some time to reflect and recharge, but my commitment to this community isn’t going anywhere. I still believe in the work that needs to be done here, and when the time is right, I’ll be ready to keep fighting for the progress Commerce City deserves.

Thank you, truly, for believing in me. I won’t forget it.

You haven’t and won’t be getting glossy flyers or catchy slogans from me. Since moving to Commerce City, I’ve focused on putting in the work, not on marketing myself, but on actually helping fix the problems we face as a community.

I’ve spent years building a reputation here as someone who shows up, digs in, and does what’s right, even when no one is watching. It’s cheap and easy to make promises. It’s far more meaningful to have already been doing the work.

I don’t have a fancy campaign team. I’ve only accepted donations from residents, the people who live here and care about this city just like I do. I’m not backed by developers or special interests trying to buy influence. I’m running to represent you, the people of Commerce City.

As you cast your ballot, I hope my honesty, transparency, and proven commitment to this community have shown you the kind of leadership I’ll continue to bring.

Let’s fix what’s broken, plan for what’s ahead, and build the city we all deserve, together.

I’d be honored to have your vote

As Election Day approaches, I hope the work I’ve done, from fighting for fairness in taxation and better planning to being open and transparent about how I’ll serve, has shown my commitment to real change for Commerce City. I’ve never taken money from developers or special interests because my only priority is the people who live here. I’d be honored to earn your vote for City Council-At Large so we can make Commerce City better together.

One thing I keep hearing from residents across Commerce City, north and south, is that we’re tired of seeing projects approved before the last ones are even finished. Roads, drainage, and public safety are always playing catch up.

Growth is inevitable, but it shouldn’t outpace the infrastructure and services people rely on every day. We need a city that plans ahead instead of reacting after the fact. Smarter coordination between departments and better long-term planning will save taxpayer dollars, reduce traffic headaches, and make our neighborhoods safer and more connected.

As a member of the Planning Commission, I see firsthand how better planning and accountability can make a huge difference. If elected, I’ll focus on improving how the city plans and executes projects, making sure new development and city infrastructure work hand in hand to serve residents better.

Commerce City deserves leadership that focuses on getting things done right, not just getting things done fast.

Ballots are out now, let’s build a city that’s proactive, not reactive.

I’d be honored to have your vote, Ryan Keefer for City Council – At Large so we can make Commerce City better together.

During the recent candidate forum, I heard something that really stuck with me, the idea that acting ethically is simply about following the law.

To me, ethics and integrity go far beyond that. Doing what’s right isn’t always the same as doing what’s legal. It’s about making decisions that put people first, even when no one’s watching and even when it’s not the easiest route. That’s the standard I hold myself to in everything I do.

I’m not here to check boxes or hand out flyers with feel good slogans. I’m here, every day, talking with residents, answering questions, and having real conversations, even when they’re tough ones. That’s how government should work: openly, honestly, and with respect for the people who live here.

I’m running for City Council because I believe leadership means listening first, acting with integrity, and keeping the community at the center of every decision.

If you believe in that kind of leadership, I’d love your help reaching more people, please like, comment, share, and follow this page so we can continue building a city that truly represents its residents.

A vote for Ryan Keefer for City Council-At Large is a vote for leadership built on ethics, integrity, and accountability.

Have you ever wondered why surrounding cities like Brighton, Thornton, and Denver seem to get all the great restaurants, grocery stores, and entertainment, while Commerce City keeps getting left behind?

It’s not because we don’t have the population or potential. It’s because our metro district taxation system is broken.

Right now, too much of our community’s tax revenue goes to paying off developer controlled debt instead of improving neighborhoods or attracting businesses. That makes it harder for new shops, restaurants, and services to open here, and residents end up paying more while getting less.

We can change that.
By fixing outdated metro district agreements, we can make Commerce City competitive again, creating a fair system that supports local businesses, lowers barriers, and finally brings in the kinds of commercial offerings our families deserve.

I’m running for Commerce City Council At Large because I believe we can do better, and I know we can, together.

This isn’t about me. It’s about us, the residents, homeowners, and families who love this city and want it to thrive.

If you’re ready to be part of a team that’s fighting for transparency, fairness, and a stronger local economy, I’d be honored to have your support and your vote.

Let’s fix what’s broken, together. Vote Ryan Keefer for City Council

Growth is happening fast, but who’s really benefiting?

As my campaign for City Council has progressed, I’ve had a lot of conversations with neighbors about the issues facing our city. The key takeaway from many of these talks is a concern about how much influence developers seem to have in Commerce City.

They show up with polished presentations and big promises, but too often we’re left with the traffic, higher taxes, and projects that don’t quite match what was sold to us.

I’m not against growth, we all know our city is changing. But growth has to make sense for the people who actually live here. That means roads that keep up, schools that aren’t overcrowded, and making sure developers carry their share of the load instead of shifting it to homeowners.

I’m running for City Council - At Large because I want decisions made with residents in mind, not outside interests. I’d love to meet with anyone who has the time, but I know not everyone does.

To make sure I understand as many perspectives as possible, I’d like to hear from you, what do you think the city should push developers to be most accountable for roads, schools, parks, or something else?

10/24/2025

Commerce City needs to get back to putting residents first and that starts with fixing what isn’t working. I want to bring accountability, transparency, and real planning back to City Hall so decisions are made for the people who live here, not for outside interests.

If elected to City Council-At Large, I’ll focus on tackling the issues residents talk about most: reining in metro district problems that drive up property taxes, cutting wasteful city spending, improving and planning ahead for our infrastructure, and ensuring our public safety departments have the tools and staffing they need to keep our neighborhoods safe.

This city has incredible potential, and I believe we can get it moving in the right direction again, one that’s focused on residents, families, and local businesses. That’s the kind of leadership I want to bring to Commerce City.

If you agree it’s time to put residents first again, please like, share, and help spread the word to your friends and neighbors. Every conversation matters, and together we can make a real difference on November 4th.

One of the biggest things I’ve heard from residents across Commerce City is frustration with how far behind we always seem to be. Roads, drainage, traffic flow, schools it feels like the city is constantly reacting to problems instead of planning ahead to prevent them.

That has to change. We need a city government that looks years ahead, not just to the next council meeting. As a member of the Planning Commission, I’ve seen firsthand how better long term planning can save millions in future costs and make daily life smoother for everyone.

If I’m elected to City Council, I’ll focus on building infrastructure that keeps up with our growth and planning responsibly so we’re ready for the Commerce City of tomorrow, not scrambling to fix the problems of yesterday.

If you agree it’s time to get ahead of the curve then like, share, tell your neighbors and help spread the word. Together, we can build a city that plans smarter and works better for the people who live here.

Ballots are out now, and Election Day is November 4th. A vote for Ryan Keefer for City Council-At Large is a vote for responsible planning, smarter infrastructure, and leadership that puts residents first.

Property taxes in many of our metro districts have gotten out of control, and residents are rightfully frustrated. Too many families are paying higher taxes every year while seeing little benefit in return, and that’s not how this system was supposed to work.

Under Colorado’s Title 32, cities like Commerce City have the authority to approve or deny new metro district service plans. That gives us the leverage we need to protect residents. When developers come forward asking for approval of new metro districts, the city should first require them to come back to the table and work with us to fix the existing ones that aren’t serving residents well. Before any new agreements move forward, the old ones need to be reviewed, renegotiated, and made fair for the people already living here.

Other cities in Colorado have already taken this approach, using their approval process to hold developers accountable and ensure that service plans are transparent, equitable, and in the public’s best interest. Commerce City can and should do the same.

It’s time for our city to stand up for its residents and make sure every metro district, old or new, is structured to serve the people who pay into it, not the ones who profit from it.

Ballots are out now, and Election Day is November 4th. A vote for Ryan Keefer for City Council-At Large is a vote for fairness, accountability, and putting residents first.

When I first moved to Commerce City four years ago, I started seeing problems that too many people were just talking about, high taxes, slow progress, and a city government that didn’t always seem to listen to its residents. Instead of just complaining, I decided to do something about it.

I joined the North Range Metro District #1 board to take on the issue of taxation and fight for more accountability. Last year, I was appointed to the Commerce City Planning Commission so I could better understand how our city operates and learn how to get things done from the inside. I’ve spent my time serving, listening, and working to make Commerce City a place that’s governed for the people who live here, not against them.

Now, I’m asking for your vote for City Council, At Large. With only two weeks left before the election ends, every vote matters. A vote for Ryan Keefer is a vote for a better, more transparent, and more resident-focused Commerce City, a city that listens, plans ahead, and puts people first.

Ballots are out now, please take a few minutes to vote and make your voice heard.
