I’ve been sitting with this for a while, because it honestly hurts to write. The results are now certified, and I officially did not win my race for Commerce City Council At-Large.
I put my heart and soul into this campaign. I poured everything I had into trying to make a positive difference for our community, and knowing that I came up short has been really hard to process. What weighs on me the most is feeling like I let down the people who believed in me, the people who supported, encouraged, and stood by me every step of the way. I’m truly sorry that I wasn’t able to deliver the win we were fighting for together.
This was an incredibly close race and we lost by just 1.96%. We were right on the edge, close enough that every single vote, every conversation, and every ounce of support truly mattered. Knowing that thousands of residents believed in the message we carried gives me so much hope, and it shows how competitive and meaningful the campaign really was.
Even though this wasn’t the outcome most of us hoped for, I want you to know how deeply grateful I am. Every conversation, every message, every yard sign, every vote, it all meant more than I can ever express. You gave me strength on the hardest days, and you reminded me why I care so much about this community.
I’m going to take some time to reflect and recharge, but my commitment to this community isn’t going anywhere. I still believe in the work that needs to be done here, and when the time is right, I’ll be ready to keep fighting for the progress Commerce City deserves.
Thank you, truly, for believing in me. I won’t forget it.
