Please join us in congratulating three outstanding members of the South Adams County Fire Department Fire Prevention team on their recent professional accomplishments and certifications!

Although each has been with South Adams County Fire for a relatively short time, they have already made a tremendous impact. Their dedication to professional development, fire prevention, and protecting our community continues to make SACFD stronger and safer. We are proud of the work they do every day!

Alissa Wolfe:
Alissa recently earned her Fire Code Specialist Designation, a prestigious designation that combines three certifications: Fire Inspector II, Fire Plans Examiner, and Code Specialist. Only 35 professionals in the State of Colorado currently hold this designation!

Melissa “Missy” Nguyen:
Missy recently earned several impressive credentials, including:
Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Administration & Fire Investigation from Columbia Southern University and
ICC Fire Inspector II and IAAI Fire Investigation Technician certifications.

Colton Tennyson:
Colton recently completed his Fire Inspector I and Fire Inspector II certifications, further expanding his knowledge and expertise in fire prevention and code enforcement.

Please help us congratulate Alissa, Missy, and Colton on these well-deserved accomplishments! Their commitment to learning, growth, and serving our community is something we are incredibly proud of.

A Life Saved Through Immediate Action ❤️

Last week, members from South Adams County Fire and Platte Valley Ambulance were honored with a life-saving award during our District board meeting.

On July 9, 2026, Truck 23, Ambulance 23, EMS 23, and Safety 21 responded to the 6200 block of Monaco Street for a report of a person down in a yard.

Upon arrival, crews found a 70-year-old male in cardiac arrest. SACFD and PVA crews immediately began resuscitation efforts, working together to provide critical care and lifesaving interventions. Following the initiation of resuscitative measures, the patient regained a pulse and was transported emergently to a local hospital for continued care.

We are incredibly grateful to share that the patient has since made a full recovery. ❤️

This outcome is a powerful reminder of the importance of rapid emergency response, immediate CPR, and strong partnerships between first responders and our community.

We’re proud of the dedication and teamwork displayed by everyone involved in this lifesaving response. Great work, SACFD and PVA! 🚒🚑❤️

Earlier today, SACFD crews responded to the Potomac Farms neighborhood after reports of severe flooding. They found several homes with water in the basements and cars affected by the rising water.

The crews used wildland water pumps to remove standing water, prevent additional damage, and help residents with flood mitigation efforts.
